AMD today announced the AMD Rewards program powered by Raptr, giving AMD Radeon graphics and AMD APU-based PC gamers the chance to redeem points earned within the AMD Gaming Evolved application for prizes.

"We are thankful for the millions of gamers that support the AMD Radeon brand by using the AMD Gaming Evolved application Powered by Raptr," said Darren McPhee, director, Graphics Marketing, AMD. "The AMD Rewards program is our way of thanking our loyal customers and giving back to the community that has given so much to us."

The AMD Gaming Evolved App helps gamers get the best experience every time they play by recommending optimal game settings tailored to their rig; keeping their drivers up to date; and through a diverse set of in-game tools like chat, web-browsing, live-streaming, and through the new AMD Rewards loyalty program. Players can earn points by using the app to play their favorite games, optimize setting for those games, or engage with the community. Those points can be redeemed for AMD Rewards in the Raptr store.

At launch, gamers will be able to redeem points for prizes, such as: Sapphire Technology Radeon R9 Series graphics cards, and tons of free games, ASTRO gaming headsets, GameFly subscriptions, GUNNAR gaming eyewear, discounts and more. AMD Rewards Program is an extension to the broader Raptr Rewards program, which has already given out millions of dollars' worth of rewards.

"We see AMD Rewards as a natural extension of what Raptr Rewards does for gamers," Dennis Fong, Raptr's CEO, explained. "It's really great to be able to reward players for all the time and effort they've invested in playing games."

To see a list of the prizes and learn more about participating in the Raptr AMD Rewards program, visit http://raptr.com/amd.

Just wanted to uninstall this the other day, let's see how those reward points go.
Keeping the drivers up to date? Um, no. The AMD website shows up blank if I try to get the latest driver -.-

Let me guess, USA and Canada only? Besides, why would i need another app to "optimize" something when i always use max possible settings anyway?

I'm curious why this is just being announced now. Pretty sure this feature was released the instant Raptr was bundled with AMD drivers.

well now the shop is functional they make a global announce, i'm currently using it and auto optimise works just fine (depending on the preset you use ofc) i already entered 1 or 2 sweepstake with my point but i think i will save up point for a Titanfall copy or something else :D i loved the bitching over the 90% point loss after the shop was in place (they basically removed 90% of each user beta point for the second phase Aka: shop is online)

"When i always use max possible settings". Optimize in this case mean if you want to play the game with OPTIMAL setting not MAX OUT. Its auto adjustment how your rig will perform to play that game with stable FPS. i think this feature is good for those who does not know how their rig strength

But in 1 condition, IF ONLY THAT THIS FEATURE WILL WORK ALRIGHT!!!!

And what is for one considered as optimal? I can always trade some geometry detail for other effects but could never lower texture quality, disable shadows or other critical effects. And once you get used to SSAO, playing anything without it makes all scenes feel empty, bland and unrealistic. And it's a completely subtle effect if we are honest.

With Far Cry 3 they tried to max AA which i thought a lower AA and higher textures and such looked much better. And lets face it, it's going depend on the user and the monitor or in my case HDTV they using.

Right now a lot of tech and gaming sites/magazines are reporting on AMD's Reward Program launch from the other day.
Most are missing the fact that this program was released to a limited few of us in December-
http://raptr.com/sorako18/news/52b3...se-notes-preview-the-loyalty-program-12-19-13
They then committed fraud/lied to us here-
http://raptr.com/sorako18/news/52e6ff5183eb17b697/rewards-points-and-store-beta-update
and here:
http://raptr.com/sorako18/news/52f5...details-on-reward-points-and-new-ways-to-earn
Notice how the original launch is called a Soft Launch and clearly shows the offer made and what was needed to achieve the earnings and rewards. A soft launch is not the same as a beta it is used for fine tuning. Such as you're going to open up a chain of a 100 stores in 2 years so next year you open up 10 stores to get a better idea of your costs, prices, wages and other factors. You then make the appropriate adjustments. Just because it's a soft launch, does not give you the right to go back because you were losing money and retroactively make those changes (recharging people the difference of your mistakes, taking back pay, and such). In the gaming world think of a soft launch more to the "Early start" that some get for pre ordering or what not, though this usually is a bonus more than anything and in some cases a Soft Launch can be used as a bonus.

The second two links they are trying to confuse people by now calling it a BETA, the raptr application was stated to be in a beta and still is in Beta, but the rewards program was not launched as a beta back in December again refer to the first link. A beta on the other hand is specifically used for testing of bugs and faults of the software. The software itself is not running as intended and needs to be fixed. Where as what happened here and clearly shown in the second link is they made mistakes calculating the costs of running the program.

The second link even shows that they were aware of issues, and instead of stopping the program and making their adjustments they choose to allow the program to run longer having users spend up to 6 hours a day using their app with full intent of changing the terms to a huge advantage to themselves, fraud. This also happened 1 week before the store even opened denying us the chance to spend the points we earned in the original offer before they deducted us those points.

In many threads raptr employees tell the community that it was a beta and compare that to how MMO's run their beta's saying how they could of deleted all the points and we should be glad we kept some.
They also in that last link state that this was not AMD, yet the first link and everywhere on the web its listed as AMD's Program.

I don't know what's more upsetting that companies can treat their consumers this way, or that gamers take the lies and thank them replying "its better than nothing

If Steam did something like this I would be so happy.

Origin, Uplay, and now this can GTFO.

Also, that screenshot comparison of default and "optimized" Bioshock:Infinite is just plain sad...

Yeah the optimization is a joke, been using it for months and yet to find a game that runs better with their optimization than just using the default (or manually setting stuff to my liking). And the only offer 91 games that can be optimized. Its just a plow to get you to run their spyware now with the extra incentive of the rewards program which they have already proven that it won't be ran legitimately. Even now a lot of the points are ambiguous on how to earn them or the conditions to earn them. Playing a game earns you 25 points a day, yet never states how much time is needed. They are keeping things as vague as possible with all these great promises just to keep people using the app.

I hate how SSAO spoiled me, or HBAO or that one that includes 1 bounce of indirect lighting ... can't play Skyrim without ENB anymore.
