overpriced intel

8350 = £150
i5 4670K = £162
Overpriced what now? I own both, I have no qualms with the pricing of either.

A88X MSI Gaming is an AMD Clone of the GD65, just for the 7850K, which is a perfectly capable CPU for gaming, considering most games are GPU limited unless you want to go down the Total War, Civ V or Starcraft II path, in which case AMD CPU's aren't worth considering. Don't be hatin on processors unless you've actually tried gaming on them before. I've tested an APU in games with a GTX780, and I see no problems at all with performance.

pci 2.0 on fx is same or even better (depending on mb) as pci 3.0 on intel.
what you lose on brandwidth you get if from number of lines so this "no new cpu" drama is pointless.

you can have 8350 clocks from 8320+212evo at lower price

edit:
GD65 board with hdmi+vga instead of 990 north bridge

The "overpriced"intel might end up being more useable 5 years from now then an AMD FX. In that case its a better value. Just my two cents.

The FX 8350 isn't an APU.

Secondly cache alone isn't enough to make a CPU or APU fast.

False accusations. Amd is currently testing steamroller arch in the APU and server market. Patience... Those Apus are very game ready aswell.

The AMD A10 7850K is a little better than my AMD Phenom II X6 Black 1100T but its not worth the upgrade :(
If they can release a A10 which has more cores and has double the performance in everything that the AMD A10 7850K has and 3D Now :D then I will buy it :p

Hence why The FX 8350 was suggested, but you seemed to ignore that and seem fixed on APU bashing.

Are you trying to be a troll? PCI-E 3.0 isn't going to make a difference if you have something like a 790FX 890FX,or 990FX chipset. There is probably a really good bet that you have enough PCI-E lanes to drive any modern video card. Also, APUs aren't that bad and you shouldn't compare them to AM3/+ CPUs considering they're geared towards different markets.

Also, the 990FX-GD65 has two 16-lane PCI-E slots. You would see zero benefit if those were using PCI-E 3.0 instead of 2.0. 16-lanes on 2.0 will drive any current video card.

Exactly, PCI-E 3.0 only make sense with a 3 gpu setup where the lanes would be shared between the cards e.g. (16x-8x-8x or 16x-8x-4x)...

In case anyone has noticed, if you check the A88X MSI G45 product page, it does say PCI-I 3.0...

Most definitely not. If I were in your situation, I'd be sticking with that 1100T and putting it on a top notch cooler and overclocking it. I had a 1055t and hit 4Ghz on that with some top end cooling, and it performed wonderfully.

I disagree. I have two 790FX boards and they both can do 8x/8x/8x/8x, and that is enough for quad-GPUs which is completely overkill not to mention an unbalanced platform. Even my 2011 board can do 16x/8x/8x/8x and assuming it couldn't do PCI-E 3.0, it would still be enough. 8 PCI-E 2.0 lanes is enough to drive most video cards without too much issue. That's the simple fact, at least for the time being.
