Does it tell you in device manager what model of webcam it is?

The driver would most likely be in your C:\windows\inf folder. Hope you can find it.

When you plug in the cam do you get the new hardware wizzard? If so you could copy the driver folder from other PC to a cd and point the wizzard to the cd drive.
i cant seem to locate the driver folder but if you go to the driver details on the computer with the webcam it tell you all the drivers file name and i have copyed them to this computer but yet no results.
And for the hidden folder it asks you when you first boot it and you go into the folder that they are hidden and if you would like to show them.

If you don't have any luck, you may as well cut your losses and get a new one, as they're cheap as chips these days.

You should check out some of the cheaper logitech cameras, they're pretty good, I have an older one (6 months old), but it works great.

That's something different I believe. In a windows explorer windows go to:
Tools-->Folder Options-->View Tab-->Click the show hidden files radio button and uncheck the
hide protected operating system files box. I also like to have it show file extensions so I know what exactly I'm opening.
