I know this probably isn't the right place to post this, but I think I effed up my left ear by playing music too loud constantly for the past few months, and it won't stop ringing.

Aaaaaaaanywho, I'm only using these crappy "Logitech Internet Chat Headset" headphones, which I think sound too stereo and not enough bass, so here's the question.

If I had better quality headphones, with more bass, I wouldn't really have to turn them up as loud to enjoy the music, therefore I wouldn't damage my ears as much, correct?

Eh, that can be turned both ways. You can't sue Logitech for ear damage caused by you being cheap and not listening to their "turn the volume down" warnings . I'd just not listen to music through headphones for the next several days, anything auditory turn down, and just take it easy the next few days.

I'm a big user of headphones because the Mother and sister doesn't like any noise at all.

I have speakers and a sub but I get shouted at if I ever use them lmao..

lol, my parents won't let me us our 2.1 system, that's on the desktop, with our sound card. i only got my 2 speakers, my mom doesn't care, my dad...he's like "too loud" but he goes downstairs and i just turn it back up. but no music past 9...little brother needs to sleep

Anyways, relax. Most hearing loss goes away if you stop the source of the problem. And in this case, that would be the loud music.

I agree better quality headphones are your remedy,
heres some for u:
Sony MDR-DJ500 @ amazon £40, i own a pair of these never let me down in 6 years, even thru some rough nites at clubs

Technics RP-F350 own these too good base responce and a bit cheaper than the sonys, overall both really good.

But tinnitus is a prolonged rinning in the ears and is caused buy beeing exposed to loud sound sources over a long time, i.e baggage handlers, construction workers, road workers and people who work with sound/sounds in general suffer with it.

If you're losing high frequency response i.e. things sound more dull then it'll be because you're receiving too much of those frequencies, same for the lows! Give your ears a break for about a week then try again, I guarantee that you don't need the volume up as loud

your headphones are definitely the problem bro.. its to "tinny" so to speak and those 8k - 15k sounds are what does the most damage, especially that close to the ear. You need to get some full enclosure headphones and you will notice the difference straight away..

Hearing loss

Well headphones do cause damage but the Bose noise canceling ones are decent. I personally can't use them because of my bad hearing but oh well. A 4000 watt amp in a small car can do that. But most importantly take a break for a while if its not like mine it can be temporary. Also look for some Equation headphones they are ok. equationaudio.com I think. Well thats my 2 cents.

BTW, EP-630 are SUPER durable, I was @ a dance, player was in my tight jeans pocket, player was upside down @ the bottom (little room for jack to move) anyway I swung my hand, and yanked the cable out, @ first I was worried I broke a cable, but turns out that the jack came out of the player That would have broken any other phones I had, but no damage @ all. Also, it is rather difficult to get the jack out of the player (requires a few good tugs) so it just shows how durable these things are.
