Things seem to be improving. Maybe I'll stick around. Had a descent round on Silk road

Well, I meant vanilla as in not CTE. All these Xpacks are super annoying though. I have China Rising and I don't plan on getting any of the others until they're dirt cheap, but it sure is killing the number of servers I have to choose from...

I have no idea why they would close sign up for the CTE, there is never more that a couple of hundred people playing worldwide. Seems like there are a ton of NL servers and usually only one or two TDM and one conquest server for the US that has any players. Right now there is one player on the US servers and 104 people on NL servers. Seems pretty lame.

Beta testing a 100 dollar game 6 months after release. Lame is an understatement.

...and support for the most part will be null due to BF5 or whatever else DICE/EA is currently working on.

As I've said, the fact the CTE is needed in the first place is pathetic but not the fact that it exists. At least they are trying to improve things in a significant way. And not just by throwing patches at the base game…we know how that goes.

To those who want to join CTE (to give feedback to DICE about the changes they're making and even some suggestions) but were not able to, it's supposed to be open again: http://cte.battlelog.com

All you need to do is sign in with your Origin username and password that you have for BF4. Only requirement is that you have to have Premium for BF4.

There are two DICE guys that are very, very active in the forums and listen to constructive feedback.

Personally I don't mind it. First of all, I do agree that DICE should have not launched the game as it is, but crying about spilled milk is not going to get the floor clean. Secondly, I'm at max rank in the normal game. For some reason, I've been one of the people who has been plagued with bugs since launch which makes the playability of the game very low for me. Combine all that and I don't mind CTE at all since it gives me another change to play the game but also fix the problems that have been frustrating me since day one. I find CTE much more enjoyable to play. Where I couldn't play BF4 for hours like I could with BF3 because of the frustrations, I find that I quite enjoy playing the CTE for hours on end on my days off.

Just finished a few rounds earlier. The vehicle FOV messed me up because I set it to max initially. Also for those who like flying jets, there's now a 3rd person nose chase cam (ala BF2). Press C once to get normal chase cam and press a second time to get the chase cam that looks behind you. One more time puts you back in 1st person.

I am playing original version, it seemed much better than before. Not sure if it was because I was testing with a capped frame rate (70 fps) for the first time, but I was actually hitting stuff and ranking much higher than usual. Has anything been patched in the last 3 weeks? I think I haven't played in 3-4 weeks.

For those interested in how many points are going to be needed for each rank from 121-130 some one in CTE on Reddit broke it down:

Points for each rank: 121 - 620k, 122 - 640k, 123 - 660k, 124 - 680k, 125 - 700k, 126 - 730k, 127 - 740k, 128 - 770k, 129 - 790k, 130 - 810k

Also, if you guys wanted a server arrangement for double points this weekend, how would you set it up? I was thinking something like a 1600 ticket Conquest of only Guilin Peaks. I think it's a better infantry map then Metro or Locker.

I'm wanting to know cause I'd like to fill up this 64 person server I have to test out the GSP. Figure I'd ask what you guys wouldn't mind playing a lot of this 2xp weekend.

So I was getting terrible K/D and inaccuracy etc, decided to check my Nvidia Inspector settings again and sure enough it had reset. Reenabling my frame rate cap and I am doing well again. WTF?

If i use gametime.maxvariablefps 60 in the user.cfg do I need to set read only? That is the only line in the user.cfg file located in the F:\Origin Games\Battlefield 4 directory on my PC.

edit: definitely 70 with no v sync is the sweet spot on my setup I think.

I actually thought A was better but we only had like 8 in B the other night when the first started. Still, in B I felt like it was back to the normal version of BF4 and not CTE.
