Well Danger Den sent me an e-mail that they dont have the brass tops and this is what they sent me

"We are currently out of stock of the brass tops for the Maze4 Chipset blocks. I can do one of the following:

change the blocks to the acrylic and refund you the difference, or cancel the chipset blocks and refund you the difference, cancel the order and refund you, or just wait until the brass tops come in and then ship the order. We are looking at 2 weeks :wtf: before we have them in stock.

Let me know what you want to do."

Well if this happen to you you'll be pissed, cuz I am and im asking what should I do  Cuz I feel calling then an telling them shit cuz you still can pick the brass on there site :shadedshu

So is it better to have Brass over Acrylic ?

Help Plz ! :(

this has to do with water blocks right?
if thats the case, don't get an acrylic! they can crack, or the intake/outtakes strips out and the they start to leak! i say wait and get the brass or get it from another place!

brass allows for better heat transfer as it provides yet another surface for dissipation. overall though ona chipset block not noticible at all. had you been using a cpu block yeah I'd have been mad too. but for a chipset you are't talking up to 200watts of heat, mor elike 30 max so no need for the extra effect of the brass.

Wait for the brass. If you go acrylic and they crack you risk loosing more than just the water block, and that's not worth it. Ask AthlonX2; his block cracked, messed up both mobo and GPU on his old system.

Better to do it right or not at all.

from what i have read in my search for chipset waterblocks, most are about the same..the are limited on how they can cool because of their small thin sizes...they are really for those who are not looking for cooler temps but no noise from fans...Koolance makes a decent chipset cooler, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811155998 also zalman makes real cheap gpu blocks that work very well as chipset coolers, and they ship in pairs (ati/nvidia) so you can use both for both bridges.... the lower profile is nice too for mobos with PCIe slots that run into the bridge...

water is a natural destoyer of just about everything in the world...heat from whatever is being cooled and constant flowing water will cause the plexi to (over time) become weak..it almost becomes dry and brittle. with plexi its not "If it cracks" it is more like "When it cracks"

Brass is good. I prefer metal as it conducts heat. Acrylic is great for show-off purposes, esp if you have a clear side panel. If you don't, then Brass is better IMO.

Brass tends to be a little stronger (copper iron mix I believe) so heat dissipation is better. Id hold for about 2 weeks on the brass ones. Acrylic itself is strong, but it can break if you over torque your screws.
