Need a new gamepad for Watch Dogs

I just installed Watch Dogs but I can't play it with my old MS Sidewinder, it does nothing at all in all settings.
My old MS sidewinder has only 7 buttons lol , works fine on GTA IV with "classic" control settings though. I haven't bought a new gamepad in years. I found a few wireless, so thats what I would like , any suggestions? Thanks

What about a wired Xbox 360 pad? Most PC games are configured for those out of the box nowadays.

There's also the logitech F310/510 which is an equivalent but as far as I can tell they're worse than the old logitech pads (Dual Action, Dual Rumble, etc). It has huuugeee dead zones, racing games are almost unplayable. Sold it and kept my old trusty Dual Action for DirectInput games.

For Xinput games I use my wired 360

Can't load the link for some reason, just make sure that the receiver is included. Most wireless Xbox 360 pads are meant for use with the 360 console, for windows you also need a receiver which is sold separately.

I just read it comes with a charge cable, USB receiver and 2 AA batteries.

That is what I was talking about.......................then you have to get a micro USB cable to actually get to work with the system. There is no Wireless receiver yet.

I can confirm that the wireless 360 controller and receiver work great. It works wonderfully in every game I've tried it with. It took me weeks trying to find a receiver for it, in the end i just had to buy another controller that happened to come with a receiver. I had to order it from the UK too. It also has the bonus of working as a 360 controller for when friends come over (stating the obvious here haha). This would be the same for the One controller too as Phenom pointed out.

Also i could be completely wrong, but I think the Xbox one controller can work with bluetooth? Or am I getting mixed up with the ds3 or ds4?

I have this pad it works great with all the games i have and its plug and play.

You do not need to use any 3rd party programs such as x360ce to make it work in games.

You can also link 3 more xbox360 wireless pads to it

Yeh it should come with the receiver. The picture shows red packaging with 'windows' explicitly labelled on it. So assuming the picture is the same as the physical version, then it should be all good. Xbox 360 only controllers come in green or white and green or black and green packaging from what I've seen and they don't have 'windows' labelled on the packaging. Good idea to check first like you have.

I bought the one in the red packaging because it is designed for windows and it came with the reciever and 2 duracell batteries.

The one you linked looks exactly the same as the one i bought so It should come with the wireless reciever and 2 duracell batteries, there will be no USB cable because they do not give you a rechargeable batterie pack.

Personly i would not bother with this pad yet its just to new, At least with the wireless xbox360 pad you know its going to work and its cheaper.

It's not weird, You can actualy use the normal xbox360 wireless pads on this windows wireless receiver you get so if you can just get the wireless pads on there own for cheaper then it makes sense.

The receiver you get can be used for 4 pads.
