GTX 750 non Ti is the best he can afford without changing the PSU.

My concern is that would his board support it.
I use to own an Intel board(old Pentium series with PCIE 1gen) that ran 8400GS and 9400GT 1GB DDR2 perfectly but couldn't run 9500GT or 9600GT.
wow i only used the 9400GT and the 7300LE, i can have that problem with the 750 non Ti? i think i will buy the 750 non Ti, thanks for the help

Again, his PSU is fine now. OP didn't say he has $120 plus more money for a PSU. The suggestion for 750 non-Ti is a perfect answer for 1) what he needs right now (which is a graphics card), and 2) within the ability of his current power needs.

No, it isn't. His PSU is total crap therefore he needs to get rid of it. It can go down and take the whole system together with it. It doesn't matter what you run with it.

Alright, on that note I'm bowing out of this thread because of your boorishness. You might want to watch your insulting behavior tho on the future...I don't know what forums you've been at in the past, but here at TPU we don't harshly insult someone because they aren't as fortunate as you, hardware-wise. We try to help as best we can. Yes, his PSU COULD be upgraded. He doesn't have the money now.

The GTX 750 non Ti only uses about 15 more watts than the 9400 GT he was using and he was getting by with that card with his PSU. Have a look at this

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/nvidia_geforce_gtx_750_and_750_ti_review,5.html

Measured power consumption GTX 750 card

  1. System in IDLE = 120 W
  2. System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 186W
  3. Difference (GPU load) = 66W
  4. Add average IDLE wattage ~10W
  5. Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 76 Watts

Please show me where I insulted you. Alright, let me get it this way, this is something everyone here should already know about and I don't know why I'm explaining this but, you should never run anything on a junk PSU.

On a technical side, there is no clear info on that unit, only a site and a few pics. From what I see, it has the space for a 120-240v switch on it's back and is a very cheap unit. It likely doesn't have APFC. If it has a flaky +5VSB rail, it may just shoot the board dead out of nowhere. Or if it has high ripple, it can slowly kill his parts. Or if it's protections don't work, it might again, kill everything. And I don't think it has a MOV either. So it might also kill his system at the time of a surge. And so on.

He was referring to you being insulting to Castori.

I agree with you 100% that his PSU should be upgraded to a better one as soon as possible and this has been made clear to the OP. It's not that your advice is wrong. It's the way you come across with it. Someone is more likely to listen to you if you were to say that your PSU isn't very good and poses a threat to your other hardware rather than saying your PSU is total crap. Assuming you want to help the OP to begin with.

don't think you will go far wrong. I was actually quite surprised at the low power high performance of the 750..
(i went to find some alternatives that would fit the bill, but the 750 is very much the best option)
its not ridiculous high performing. but it can provide same/better performance than some similar cards whilst using a lot less power.
its definitely better than your old card too...

That's not an option. I think MxPhenom216 already went over this with you.

OP. Go for the 750. You'll be fine.
He doesn't know how to read I guess, or he's just trolling. Probably both.

wasnt trolling. Just was giving 1 solution. Im buying a piece for my machine once a month
