As far as Cases go, that's going to be in the eye of the beholder because most cases generally are very nice in this day and age (So long as you do not go ultra cheap) and will fit almost all needs. The size is more of a whether you have the room, want to travel with it, or things like that. As far as the basic looks and just my opinion, I like the Bitfenix company a bit better but thats about it. I would get the 750 EVGA though mostly for expand-ability later on since you do want to eventually run CFX.

A case to me is about what you like when you look at it. I like the way the Corsair Carbide 500R looks and I like having good airflow. It has 2 front intake fans a side panel intake and a rear exhaust. Do I need all those fans? Not really but I want them anyway. I also like a black case with blue LED fans. Blues my favorite color. Does that work for you? Probably not. It's just about what an individual likes when it comes to cases imo.

I notice you don't list a mechanical HD. Do you intend to reuse one you already have?

Yeah you're rigth. I should have read myself before posting. :p

But basically what I want to know is is crossfire worth it because I would like to get an mATX case for space managing reasons and is there something I should change in my build.

I have an external HDD for stocking pictures and movies. I plan to store only essentials things like games the OS and some programs. Do you think 256 gb will be enough? In case I also have an old HHD available on my old computer but I'd rather not use it since it's quite noisy.

Other than that everything is good?

I think Bitfenix is a great company too and a mATX case would be nice for saving space on my desk. But lacking the option of making a crossfire is worrying me. Do you think Crossfire is really useful?

If you can afford to go high end single GPU, not it's not. In every case, the best single GPU money can buy will always be easier and less of a nightmare in future.

Do you think 256 gb will be enough?

Easily, OS and software, plus a bunch of games, I can easily do that and still have a few dozen GB's left for some extra games.
That being said, you can now buy a Crucial MX100 512GB for the same price I bought a Samsung EVO 256GB about 6 months ago. I paid £135 for 256GB, and the MX100 512GB is currently £149. Great value.

But lacking the option of making a crossfire

mATX doesn't lack the option of crossfire. I can crossfire on my mATX board easily, you just have to buy a motherboard that has two PCI-E 3.0 x8 capable lanes that are at least 2 PCI-e slots in width. Most of them will be advertised as such.

In answer to your question is 256 GB enough. It's not something you have to decide right now. If you find that you have too many games or if games continue to get bigger and bigger, for example Wolfenstein: the New Order with it's crazy requirement for 50 GB storage space, then you can easily add a 2 TB HDD later to store games and swap them out onto your SSD when you want to play them.

Yea with MATX you can easily do a CFX/SLI setup. Just as long as you buy a board with 2 PCIE 16 lanes that run at minimum 8x when 2 GPU's are in the machine. I have even kicked around doing a 3 or 4 GPU setup using a MATX (Using Dual GPU cards however!) with my next build. If you want to do a MATX build, try this motherboard and you should be able to have a small case and 2 GPU's.

There are more but this should at least give you an idea.

As far as SSD's go, as stated above you can get a 512 for pretty cheap right now so if you can grab it I would. Otherwise you should be fine but you will be just a bit more limited on installing things to it.

I have run CFX/SLI in ridiculous setups for years without much to complain about. Early on it was more of a pain but lately there is not much to complain. A general rules of thumb has always been get the best single GPU you can now and upgrade to a second later if you need the power without making an expensive upgrade. You will see results from that but then you do have to worry about CFX/SLI support in games (But most AAA games are not much to worry about except maybe on day 1).

Thanks for all your help guys

I know that it is possible but it is possible to do a crossfire setup in a mATX case with the Gene in theory. But in pratice I'm scared of the temps I'll get with two R9 290 so close from each other Isn't it bad for the case. I tougth that the minumum to get a to make a crossfire setup with decent temps was an ATX mid tower.

But I might be wrong. In my case do you guys think I could do a crossfire setup while still having low enough temperature that will allow the fans to run quiet?

This one is my last one lol. :D
Can I ask you why do you prefer this one?
