Have 2 other computers, and want to put the best video card in 2nd used. Have a GeForce 5600 D256M and a GeForce 5900XTOC D128M. Which would give the better gameing performance?
Thanks

I was thinking the 5900XTOC would be better, I'm sure the OC is factory overclock.

i think the 5900 is faster because the core is faster, even if it has less memory. but youd get alot better performance from a modern decent card (im pretty sure at least, never used a 5x00 series)

I believe you can go to tom's hardware and check the video card comparison chart to verify this, but the 5900 is sure to be the better gaming card...the 5xxx series isn't really capable for current games, at least if you like eye candy, anti-aliasing, and high resolutions.

Even with half the memory the 5900XT OC will be the better gaming card, go to Tom's and see by how much, you may be suprised!

I appreciate the advise, don't spend much time on the 2 older computer, the one I use is a SONY VAIO VGC-RA920G, P4 3.6G Hyper Thread, 2G Ram, 600G Hard Drive (RAID o) and a ATI X850XT Platinum D256M Vivo.
