Monitor choices

So I'm on the matket for a monitor. I really want a 1600p monitor, but I've read those are a gamble. And usually the have to request a perfect pixel type which could cost hundreds more. Surprisingly, it looks like I can get a decent 4K panel cheaper. Is that the route I should go and recommemdation for both would be appreciated.

Monoprice has a 4K unit under $600 coming out. Maybe I should wait for that

Looking at TFT Central review recently of the Samsung 4K monitor it suffers badly from input lag (I assume that's the one you are looking at).

Dell markets some nice 1440/1600 monitors that are pretty fast. They aren't cheap though.

This is assuming that you are getting it for gaming.

Actually I think he is looking at the Asus that just launched.

I was gonna buy my card/s according to the type of monitor I got. I'm looking at dual 290x. My planned board is crossfire only. I'm kinda looking at the 120/144 Hz monitors too, but I ready to leave 1080p. I used my TV as my monitor, so the speed means little to me. The 3D appeals thou. And I was looking at Monoprices 1600p.

What board are you looking at that's Crossfire only?

So I possible made my most gaming changing decision ever gaming wide and brought a 4K monitor. Hopefully it's the future and not ultrawide like Linus think.

Personally I'd wait for better 4k panels to come out and down in price. Also if you can't wait look at 4k screen with a displayport input.
