Hi wanted to share some price ranges for the laugh's ;)

Intel Page:
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/20-lga1150#/page-2

Intel Core i5 4690
Price in $ = about 280$
Price in R = R2,807

Intel Core i5 4690K (Devils Canyon)
Price in $ = about 305$
Price in R = R3,048

Amd Page:
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/29-am3

AMD Vishera FX-8320
Price in $ = about 245$
Price in R = R2,450

AMD Vishera FX-8350
Price in $ = about 295$
Price in R = R2,951

So what do you think my fellow tpu members :D

Intel has good things going for them.
Amd not so much :/

For the Higher-ups :

Amd has the Fx 9370 and Fx9590 but at 220w tdp is kinda pointless and Intel's Core i7 4790 is only 55$ more than the Fx9590 so which means defeat for amd agian :/

Oh and if the thread is placed in the wrong category im sorry.

I know this probably belongs in Hot deals but that's mostly for the us and is not the point of this article :)

You are such an Intel Fanboy that you had a conversation with yourself.

You create a thread in the hope to shame AMD for not being priced competitive in India. Then you clearly say "Intel has good things going for them" in a blatant attempt to put down AMD.
Then when nobody responds you chat with yourself complaining about AMD's TDP

I'm not the one creating threads intended on bashing one company whilst praising another.

You could have created a thread stating how cheap Intel Core i5 4690 is without mentioning AMD.

.co.za is South Africa but, yes, saying "R" instantly made me think Indian Rupee too...

My guess is it is supply versus demand. Demand for AMD processors (likely upgrades for existing computers) is high in South Africa but supply is low. States-side, they are only going for $140 USD because the opposite is true: demand is low (most people want Intel) and supply is high.

That's true as well ;)
But their new apus are also similarly priced.
It's sad to see that amd has given up on High end cpus :'(

like i said its for the laughs
I'm not attacking amd but without price reduction's it becomes ridiculous CPU war ;)

What has this got to do with the Intel Core i5 4690 being $280?

One minute you claim you want to show us a hot deal. Next minute you are complaining about AMD's roadmap.

This thread is a failed attempt at Intel vs AMD thread bait.

See what? No one argues that the FX's are as quick as Intel CPU's. That would be stupid (even if they are as fast as them in very specific benchmarks).

Further evidence that retailer is either gouging or AMDs are in very short supply in South Africa.

.... I have no idea what you're on about now. Are you saying some people say FX CPU's are faster than the fastest i7, and somehow this is the same thing as saying FX CPU are decent processors for the price? This is even dumber than some of my theories, and that is saying something.

RebelTech is selling FX-8350 for more than the i5-4690. That would imply the FX-8350 is better but it's not...by a long shot. I see the OP as a "buyer beware." Granted, I doubt many South Africans look at TPU.

Ridiculous. I hope AMD is aware of this because there's no way they can be competitive in those markets.

RebelTech is selling FX-8350 for more than the i5-4690. That would imply the FX-8350 is better but it's not...by a long shot. I see the OP as a "buyer beware." Granted, I doubt many South Africans look at TPU.
lol do you read minds that's exactly what I'm worried about :0

Prices here:
i5-4690 = $320
FX-8350 = $220
As you can see my market is totally #@%&£
