People getting tired of seeing "No Wii" signs in front of their favorite video game store while waiting for the Nintendo Wii might be seeing some relief soon. Nintendo has been somehow managing to make 1 million Wii's a month, which simply isn't enough to meet all of the demand. Nintendo hopes that adding a new plant or two into the production team will let Nintendo make 14 million units within this fiscal year.

my friend told me he read a report that said in a few years (3?) there will be a Wii in 30-40% of houses (i don't know if this is global or just US, but probably just US)

this would help that! then i could school in wii tennis everywhere :)

Definitely not in y house. I've tried to get used to it, but I don't like the controller and the lack of true precision. Shame as I thought it would be kinda fun. But others seem to like it, so good on Nintendo; just shows that cheaper products sell more... (Get the hint SONY!:banghead: )

I really agree with you here. To me the Wii is just a gimmick. I would get bored of it after a week. Sony needs to cut prices and it also couldn't hurt for Microsoft. I chose the 360 in the next gen console war because of it's lower price, great graphics, and awesome gameplay among other things. I love my PS2 to death, but the PS3 would murder my bank account dead in it's tracks.

I'm going to also agree with you here. I really don't like to play my Wii. The motion sensing is aweful on Wario-Ware, Cooking Mama, and Wii Sports. I hope the controller doesn't destroy Mario Party 8. It'd be a damn shame if it controls like Wario Ware does.

ITs a nice gimmick, but Nintendo has listened to its customers. It has made some old school (read: SNES) controllers available to supplant the Wiimote. So, if you dont like the new inventive controller, you can kick it old school style with comfort and convenience.

I think that sums up the reason as to why more PS2's have been sold than PS3's since the new console was released:laugh:

I had a Wii and a PS3, liked both, and sold them afterwards seeing that PC pwnz both of them ;) just my opinion. though PS3 had quite 'HD' gfx and Wii gave entertainment and realistic controlling experience :)

Nintendo is dragging it heals.

If current production in 12 million units per year, then "upping it" to 14 million is NOTHING.

IMO they are making a very big mistake. If they are only making 12 million units per year, then they will probably ONLY SELL another 20 million... because in 2 years time we will all be moving on to the next console designed to BEAT the Wii.

Nintendo should up the production BIG TIME to make the sales in 2007, while Wii still has a buzz and when people who have never seen it will still buy based on reputation.

For the people who HAVE BOUGHT them... the Wii is great for a few weeks then tires. And soon the buzz will disappear.

Nintendo... get your act together. SELL while the market is hot.

The problem with Blu Ray is that it has the competition of HD DVD and neither of them has a vast market for them right now.
Not too many people want to buy and expensive player or PS3 and on top of that they have to buy a new TV.
So that is what is hurting the PS3 as well right now.

At least when the PS2 and PS came out, DVDs were widely used and there was a big market for it.

Also, Nintendo will prob. lower the price so it can keep peoples interest if they see a decline in the sales.
They are making a nice profit off of the Wiis at $250, so a $50 cut in price wouldnt hurt them.

I don't think he's refering to the PS3 or Xbox. He's talking about the near term (his example, in 2 years) when mid price competition for the Wii will exist, and hence Nintendo should better sell NOW rather than limit production. I thought the point was pretty obvious. :banghead:

I don't think he's refering to the PS3 or Xbox, Zero. He's talking about in 2 years time once there is something at a mid price-point to replace, or compete against, the Wii. :banghead:

wtf? did you edit that message? :S :wtf:
