i have $2000 at last, waiting for my new gaming rig.
After 6 years its about time to upgrade my i5 750 2.66GHz and my gigabyte Gts 250 that are going to handle the HTPC from now on.
i already have monitor, cpu cooler(swiftech h220-x), corsair forge gs 128gb and OS that will follow the new setup.
Firstly i need ur advise about the time i must do the move to go out there and start purchase the parts
and secondly i want ur suggestions about the new setup, just inform u that there is a must in ur suggestions and this is the asus gtx 980 poseidon there is no space for another card in my heart(i am going to expand my watercooling us u figure).

Thank you in advance!

It boils down to how long does it take for changes in the market to get to you, and are you willing to wait? Here in the USA, changes from Computex 2015 will happen almost overnight. I can also understand falling in love with a GPU like the asus gtx 980 poseidon, but what if AMD has a hit on their hands with the 380/380X?

Wait for Fiji (R9 390X). Frankly the Poseidon is not a particularly good card for custom watercooling. You're better off buying any GPU (be it maxwell or fiji) and then buying a proper waterblock for it.

I'd also wait for Skylake in Q3 2015 too, because of DDR4, NVMe etc

If you're set on X99 then no need. Skylake is not going to be a vast improvement on Devil's Canyon anyway, only in the iGPU department, which you won't care about. Go for the X99 system, but wait on Fiji in the event it's some glorious card.

Personally, I'm waiting until Windows 10 comes out so I don't have to mess with upgrading Windows 7. I would definitely wait until R390/R380 debut because they're fully DX12 compliant and, thanks to HBM, should have higher memory density which is growing increasingly important. If you can't wait, Haswell-E but I'm trying to hold off until Skylake-S (Q3 2015) at minimum and hopefully Broadwell-E (Q1 2016) at maximum. Broadwell-E is an incremental update to Haswell-E so really isn't that fantastic. Advantage of Haswell-E/Broadwell-E is six or more cores where Skylake-S is stuck at four.

I am in the same situation, already got a new SSD for my new build, but will wait till E3 on June 18 when (supposedly) AMD will launch the new R9 cards.
