Info
  • I have four(4) sticks of 4GB orange Ares Gskill DDR3-1600 memory Newegg Link Here
  • I want to trade these for a two(2) sticks of 8GB DDR3-xxx memory
  • ^Straight up 1600 trade is ideal but I can add some cash on my side if it's 1866+
  • I think I can also do a straight up 2x4GB for another 2x4GB temporarily... but I'm entirely sure yet, feel free to throw me offers on that anyway

Requirements
  • No tall heatsinks! Something along the heights of Ares ram are ideal
  • Must be blue in color, white is acceptable, black may work depending on the kit
  • Any brand/manufacturer is okay as long as there is transferable lifetime warranty; Gskill preferred

You need to edit your title: it says you want a 2x4 kit, but your description says you want a 2x8 kit.

Why would you trade 4x4GB stick for 2x4GB sticks ?, then it looks like you not to sure after, i have plenty of Samsung low profile ram but a out right swap would lose there warranty.

EDIT

curious!

I want to trade these for a two(2) sticks of 8GB DDR3-xxx memory

huh, now you asking for 2 sticks of 8GB for 4x4GB ram why the hell would some one do that but i guess it's worth a try.

i was surprised to find out that 4x4 vs 2x8 is around the same price (for the same manufacture and series)

back in the olden days, the 2x8 would be roughly 35% more.. (help i'm getting old!)
