does this set up a recurring charge on your debit/credit card though? because it requires You to enter your payment info @ sign up... Like with amazon prime, except I know that with prime, you can opt out instantly after signing up, and still get the 1 month free, and @ the end of the free term it just ends, no charges.

It looks like it does. Just got this e-mail after launching the mobile app.
Looks like it's basically just a $19.99 coupon code and you have to sign up for the subscription to redeem the code. I suppose if you cancel right away, you'd just ride out the 3 months you "purchased" though.

Yes it does. It renews yearly on the anniversary your premiere membership started.

Personally, i love it. I get free 3-day shipping, some exclusive sales notifications, and returns/RMA's are free. Usually you have to pay to return your item.

Overall it's cheap for what you get, made even better when you buy frequently. The shipping alone pays for itself very quickly.

Edit...I've had the app for over a year and it doesn't seem to recognize my Premier membership, although it recognizes me. So be aware of that.

The app is great for looking for stuff though, and add it to a mobile wishlist, which you'll have to move to a normal wishlist folder later.

Personally, i love it.

This vs Amazon Prime though? Computer parts are priced more reasonably, certainly, but the lack of selection (for approximately the same membership cost) makes Premier seem kind of meh for value.

Still get computer bits from Newegg, of course, albeit at "be here eventually" shipping speeds. I'm a fairly patient individual.

Well now they won't be here at "eventually speeds" 3 days, free. Just a couple items will pay for that sometimes.

Personally I prefer buying from them. They are a store that focuses on computer parts, so they know how to organize them.

Conversely, Amazon's computer parts is a disorganized mess. Either they have no one who knows anything about computers, or no instructions have been given to their website creators on what goes where. I liken Amazon's computer section to a child's toybox that has ben dumped in a pile on the floor. Even search brings up many items that aren't even what you search for.

Obviously not a fan of Amazon for some things. I only go to them IF I hear of a sale on a part I want because it will be on the landing page for that section.

Anyway, Premier is a pretty good deal. And knowing I don't have to pay for returns postage is nice.

This is very true. I think a lot of this is due to third party sellers (filtering by "Prime Eligible" helps a little), but it's definitely something I wish Amazon would improve.

Finally got it! Thing is it still required a CC# during setup but it had the option to select the 3mo one so I hopefully won't be billed.

But... this is just in time for me to get some hardware I need-a-get.

well they're email seems to disagree. it states that your debit card is charged unless you opt out....so weather its recurring or not, i cant say, but it certainly is used to charge you a "renewal fee"atleast once automatically , unless you opt out which sounds like a recurring charge to me, even if it only does so once, but id hazard a guess it would happen as long as you didnt stop it.

i actually found proof of the automatic charge...

Bull!!!! As I said above it auto renews, and they reminded me by e-mail it was coming. It would auto renew unless I specifically replied to them NOT to renew.

My membership just autorenewed in May of this year(2015), and will renew itself a second time next year (May, 2016) unless I specifically notify them not to.

No idea if it'll stick or if newegg will steal my penny (the nerve of it! lol). It's been pending all day so I think it's just to check the card is valid.

This is to just verify that the card you gave them is valid. It's called a penny test and it should "fall" off after a day or so.
