Hey guys,
Well as some of you already know i have recently got a new system (but not graphics card) but had been having problems with the X2 accellero add on. Well, after finally fixing that, i fear that my graphics card has been damaged in the process.
Since installing the new X2, Processor, motherboard and ram i have received various glitches with it, i think this is mainly to do with my fiddling with the X1900XT and the X2. Problems such as;
1) ATi tool suddenly closes telling me my hardware has changed. Upon restart and/or restart of ATi Tool it works again.
2) Screen randomly goes blank. I have tried re-instering the card, re-inserting the monitor cable, changed the monitor extension, changed power cable and even restarting the machine and yet the screen may still remain blank. It seems to come back when it likes.
3) Upon closing a game (Such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R or World of Warcraft) the screen will go blank giving me some sort of ATi error report, send/don't send entitled 'VPU recovery' or something along those lines. It tells me that there is a problem with my card, i forgot to take a screenshot of this occurrence and so cannot remember the exact details of it but will do next time it appears.
4) Random restarts upon exiting a game (Such as STALKER or World of Warcraft).
In-game it all runs fine, smooth, nice FPS etc. STALKER on max graphics. Just im getting this random and rather tedious errors.
Some problems i think may be occuring;
1) Lack of power? 4 80MM case fans, 1 PCI Slot fan, Arctic Cooling 7 on E6600 and the new X2 Accellero on the card - perhaps too much for my PSU now? Should i remove the PCI-slot fan?
2) Damaged card perhaps? (I'd like to think this was unlikely since all in-game runs fine.)
3) Incompatibility issues somewhere down the line?
4) ATi Tool configuration mishap? Perhaps something to do with the loading of 2D and 3D profiles? Voltage settings?
5) Heat? (I also like to think this is unlikely!)
TEMPS - On load:
X1900XT - During 3D Mark 06
GPU: 60-65*C
Vregs: 65/68/69/70/71*C
E6600 C2D - During 3D Mark 06 (Thermal Analysis Tool)
CPU 1: 34*C
CPU 2: 36*C
Help.
Once again i am asking this great and helpful community for help with my hardware, i hate to be such an annoying noob-pain in the arse but i trust you guys and your judgements since they seem to be great so far.
Anything else you want to know, just ask!
Thanks a lot guys and appreciate all the help you can give!
Hux.
