I believe the bayonet charge does freeze a player, it is lame. Also if you see a teammate getting stabbed and shoot the enemy no damage is registered so you have to wait until the knife melee animations is complete before they take any damage.

I have ten total hours of game play & I am already getting bored with BF1. I dislike playing normal mode servers & prefer HC servers.

It IS lame because I am facing them and they take my ability away from defending myself. It is like a freebie kill for the enemy. IRL that guy would be laying dead on the ground...

Found a funny bug but cant really figure out why it happens. Had it happen only once where my gun moved over to the left a decent amount and I could not see anything (I was using the Madsen so the clip was completely dead center when aiming down sights)

Considering snipers are even worse than normal in BF1, HC mode is going to be filthy.

It has happened twice. I could literally not raise my weapon though a second before my weapon was pointing out straight...and it only happened when I was killed by bayonet charge. I would just watch them from a short distance run at me and I could do nothing. If it is not meant to be that way...then I'm confused.

Maybe there is some temp stun or something if its aimed at someone, dunno just have not see it all the time or see it listed as part of the attack.

I have found my favorite support weapon. The BAR M1918 rocks at range! Down side is it has a tiny 20 round mag but man I am laying enemies down left and right.

Okay so I do have SOME gripes. The bayonet charge, sometimes hit or miss. I have seen myself charge right at someone and then the charge won't stab the guy, or charging into a group of guys and it won't decide who I am stabbing. Also, hit recognition seems off somehow, I'll shoot someone in the head and I will not get a hit-marker. I play it on console so I don't really know if this is an issue for the PC guys, as well as being revived and being basically unable to defend yourself after being revived, my gun will not come up and I cannot fire back.

Am I salty?? Yes Because even M18 trench guns are on and off... medium distance they are bad, but for close combat they are way better than the shotgun. You cant really run and gun unless you're an assault class. Maybe im just playing the classes incorrectly.

as a support gunner i even get reamed by the shitty slow firing rifles that medics have..... I'll be glad when hardcore mode is available and bullet damage will actually account for some sort of damage with the LMGs

Support weapons use 2142 mechanics. Your spread is worst when you start firing and dials in as you hold down the trigger.
Rules of support guns :
Don't hip fire
Don't shoot bursts
Don't play to other classes strengths

Madsen and bar are head and shoulders above the other weapons. And of course, mortars are just brutal.
Every class is more deadly in it's role than previous games. Just play them right.

And yeah, you can run and gun with any class. I am a hyper aggressive player, I can stay near the top of the scoreboard with a solid KD with any class. It helps to know yourself.

I have noticed that not enough of the defending team goes mortar during Operations or Rush. Very sad.

Not anymore, they use an in game launcher instead of Battlelog now. Even BF4 will be moving to it soon (Or maybe it has have not checked).

Bingo, its about suppresive fire not burst firing. I can nail people with most guns in the support class pretty well especially with both the Bar M1918 or the Madsen. The MG15 with extended mags rocks on rush defending as I just mount up and fire.

Yea, I agree as just having 2 people doing that can help the defenders quite alot. I think it will get better as some people stop trying to just go for kills and work as a team once they realize how things work and how to use every class effectively since its still early and alot of times people go for the kits that offer up easy continuous kills over what helps the team more.

Support guns that don't work in burst isn't what I call realistic AT ALL. I mean I know this isn't a simulator but that just bends the laws of physics.

Runs fine on a 2600K. By fine I mean well over 60fps on Ultra.

Well technically they do work in burst sortta but its just alot different from BF4. It takes more time to recover from firing to get that complete accuracy back which is why when burst firing the gun seems to be horrible. It seems to be more of an attempt to get the heavy guns to be a bit more realistic in terms of how they were intended to be used (Firing full auto in high bursts instead of like assault rifles), not close to perfect but it makes them more defined in their usage.

I said it was a game. What I'm saying is they pushed it a LOT with the lack of proper burst fire. Support is to lay accurate cover fire. You do that with bursts.

I run it on two systems. My main (6600K @ 4.6GHz & GTX 1080) and my 2500K @ 4.5GHz & GTX 980 with out issue on both (other than the stupid very very very random crash. Both systems play it at 1080p Ultra without issue.
