Resident Evil 7 keep crashing and I can't figure out why! I think video card is junk?

I picked up Resident Evil 7 last week.

But I can't seem to get pas the first level.

At the same exact point the game just crashes.

I've tried a few things.

I've set all my overclocks to stock settings.

That didn't help.

I've been racking my brain.

I tried the latest AMD video card drivers.

That didn't help.

I tried older drivers.

That didn't help.

I ran memtest to make sure my memory wasn't unstable.

Temperatures all seem fine.

I'm at a dead end.

But I'm starting to suspect it is either my graphics card is bad or AMD drivers just suck, because the game consistently crashes at the exact same point in the game.

Argh!

You'll have to be more specific about the crashes. What was the exact error message, what does it say in Event Viewer, maybe do you have a minidump? We'll need that kind of stuff to at least know where to begin...

Is it possible that this game needs some specific CPU instructions set to play it and your CPU might not have this?

There is no error message.

The game just freezes and then it comes up with the standard Windows RE7.exe has stopped blah blah blah.

It shouldn't be the CPU.

It easily handled every other game.

Go to Event Viewer and check the crash even there. It'll have more info.

Crashing at the exact spot doesn't like a hardware issue, it would be more random than that.
My guess would be game bug/driver issue.
