building a internet computer for a friend

Wanted to get some ideas from you guys. I'm trying to keep it under 400 dollars it can be AMD or Intel based can have integrated video, needs a 100 gig hardrive, dvd burner,alteast a gig of ram,plain old decent case. He's not a gamer and it won't need to be overclocked. He stores some photo's is a realestate agent . He wants to burn DVD's, surf the web and maybe write a paper or two. He also needs a os. I use alot of newegg ordering so thats my preferred site but any will do. Thx guys.

its alil over 400 but its the best you can do concidering you have only 400 to spend remember the monitor is almost half the cost right there..

You think XP Home is an acceptable OS for him? That would save a few bucks.

Actually, XP Home, MCE 2005, Vista Home Basic, and Vista Home Premium OEMs are all cheaper than the XP Pro I listed above.

Well, I dont know anything about US prices, but I just put together a very basic internet only (+ a bit of DVD burning) PC for someone, and all it cost was £200 after VAT and shipping, all completely new parts (including a 15" TFT monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers etc)

PS: that was with a basic PCI-E graphics card aswell
