Do long gaming sessions need special chairs?

A gaming-grade chair and a good quality office chair are the same thing, they are just being marketed differently.

Been on a lot of chairs, some nicer than others and it's helped. Though no matter what I'm sitting on, gotta get up for a few minutes ever hour.

This. Comfy chairs can help but, it's no replacement for getting up and getting away from the computer for a little bit every once and a while.

I don't see any correlation between gaming and normal office work. I break a lot of chars at work so I've just learned what works for me and I buy it

I've got a ratty old wooden chair that I found in an alley back in '02. Slapped a cushion and some fabric on it and SHAZAM! my eternal gaming chair.

The chair looks uncomfortable and kind of ugly but is actually really nice. Its firm so you don't slump and it has a great shape. I think the ergonomics are pretty good. The only thing I don't like is the arms need to be wider, not just a pipe, and the metal gets cold in the winter. Its made of steel so it should last forever. The only failure point is the piston and the plastic plugs the casters insert into, but these things are standard easily replaceable office parts.

That said, at my previous job they had Herman Miller Aeron chairs in the office and they're really something else. Unfortunately way outside of my budget...

Been using a Broyhill high-back manager chair for the past ten or so years. I'm actually on my 2nd one and in need of replacing it (fake leather is peeling off). No way I could go back to using anything less than what I've been using.

The only concerns I have is back pain from sitting too long so I use a chair that gives me firm back support. I also get a sore butt from long gaming sessions so I bought a gel cushion and it solved that very nicely.

Just a typical office chair, I personally can't understanding spending 200+ euros on a damn chair. Rather get an used graphics card with it, since it boost performance and with that also gaming experience improves much more. But that's just my opinion.

I use a DX Racer chair, but a normal office chair is ~similar in design, so it's equal in ergonomity. I bought it because I like it, more for the looks of it, or else I would've probably taken a office chair again.

"Gaming" chairs are overpriced and poor quality > DxRacer < if you sit for more than 4h a day get sth that will help your spine etc.
