I've been sharing my very own Steam account with somebody for a long time, maybe a year. I had a go at them on msn for something and deleted them blocked them w/e. Now it seems the password on MY steam account has changed, and when I try and get it sent to the email address that the account is registered with, I don't seem to get any email. I've tried twice so this leads me to assume they have also changed the email address. The account is in my name "casheti" so is there any way I can get it back? I had Half Life 2 and CSS and all that on there...

I always seem to get fucked over whenever I do anything nice... never again.

The first thing they will ask is if you shared your account with someone. Then you will say yes. Then they will say "sorry about your luck".

don't listen to the linkin, you need your CD key and you can get it reset back to your email.

I have my CD key, how can I do this?

I hope you read the part about this person changing the email address so I couldn't get it sent to me.

And I also hope what you say is the solution! Please explain

It's a pretty long cd key reset system that steam does, but if you go here
it will show you how to get your cd key back

again, it is a long process so unless you have all games on that steam account, or close to it, you can pay 10 bucks and get it back again and save your troubles.

Well I've submitted the report as a hijacked account (cos it is), and I hope this gets resolved.

You have no chance with Valve mate. It specifically states that under no circumstances are you to share an account with anyone else and as you have violated the TOS it is your own fault.

I would do that cd key reset thing. It's the only way.

I've shared a few WoW accounts in the past, but thats only because I've known the friend forever.

Their server probably will say you did.

Log in twice from different IP's within an unreasonable amount of time with a fairly significant distance between IP locations, and bam, verified sharing.


And no, this is far from illegal .

If I were running shop, I'd say tough luck, learn to not download a keylogger.

Its a pity most companys are as forgiving as they are.

Although this would backfire if theres multiple log-ins covering multiple days. Would mean you both used the account.

cash ive had multiple cd keys taken from me for one reason or another. one of them was sharing my first account with my friend until he jacked it from me. i don't know what dippy is talking about with his crazy "TRACK IP OMG" conspiracy but you will get your account back if you do it right.

just no, they arent going to do ANYTHING to your account if you lan at your friends or lan at cafe's (sometimes you login with your account) they wont do jack all. steam doesnt use the IP track ways, nice try though

Apparently its impossible to log in at 7:30 in ohio, then 6:30 in chicago.
