Just released, yes that right the game what so many true RPG lovers have long awaited for since the DOS1 was released.

Almost exactly two years after we launched our most successful Kickstarter ever, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is now out!

We've poured our hearts and souls into this game, and we are so, so excited to see what the world makes of it.

It's been an incredible journey, but of course none of this would be possible without the support we've had along the way. Our unending thanks to each of the 42,713 Kickstarter backers who put their faith in us two years ago, and to every player that explored Fort Joy during last year's Early Access. Without your trust and without your feedback none of this would be possible.

But of course, the journey's not over. Indeed, for you it's just beginning...

Enjoy

Been a fact for many years now, some good games used to come from Monteal but seems like it's not the case these days.

Don't forget Frontier Developments

Wow, just released? lol.. I got so used to seeing the preview builds around that I thought it already was released.

Still haven't played it though. Got so much in library unplayed. Liked the first one though.

This game is incredible. I picked it up in early access. When it officially released I lost my save files and had to start over but the voice acting alone made it worth it. The EA had no voice acting at all. This game is about as close to a video game D&D adventure as one can get. Love it.

My only issue with the game is it is hard to put down.

Same here me and my wife payed for it some time ago, we would of supported the kickstarter of it but did not hear about it until it popped up on steam.

I am glad they kept the humor too, cracks me up all the time. Game still has that what if to it as well like the original.

If I could get my Wife to commit to playing on a regular basis I would love to get her into this game. She is way too inconsistent though. I assume because she is not a gamer. :kookoo:

My daughter (she's 8) took one look at the game and was like; nope.

Now my son would dig it; too bad he is only 3.

My best friend as a kid played table top D&D (I never did) and he is a active gamer. I told him to look at it and he was like, "Nope."

So I am soloing and I still love it. In fact going solo is better as I have full control. /sniff

My wife is hooked on it, she gets pissed at me if i will not allow a elf die. She has some true hate for elf's lol. She got one killed without, well she thinks without me knowing but i saved the other one.

My daughter is more interested in any thing but what i like, she used to like Arma HAHA.

Full control unless the AI ague about whats right and wrong lol, main issue i have with the game is killing some one or getting them killed is normally a bad thing but that goes for most games not just DOS.

I care about who is pissed with me in a game, my wife does not in fact i noticed this body on the floor i just notice a SPLAT and i said WTF was that and just how she said it sounded evil as she normally is in these game, I was just ripping their faCe off. Could not help to feel she had some enjoyment out of that. There is plenty more but i would hate to spoil the game for others.

I always enter these games thinking I'm going to be bad ass and evil....then I totally help everyone I can and defend all. Example...start of game...oh i'm gonna be evil as all hell...snarky lady laughs at me when I can't use my source. Oh I'm not liking this. You be lucky I have this collar on! Righteous anger!

Boat is being attacked...

I find this lady with her her throat cut and bleeding out. I do my very best to save her.

Yeah that's me every time. Always doing the right thing. I talk a mad game though behind their backs.

This game is awesome.

They took DOS 1 and made everything more epic, and almost every skill tree is valuable now too. Every combat system refinement they did is spot on, and they added so much depth its mental.

There is but one issue, I keep restarting to find a perfect party balance. Yes, you can respec @ Act 2, but I'm a true min maxer, I want race/origins to double dip in everything too ^^

To go with a meme; 10/10 would start again :D

There is the odd quest bug and stuff about, but they added the voice acting now makes it even more playable and as WhiteNoise said it's done well. I actually thought i would of had wait 6 months or so to have it how it is now.

I do believe only the English language is done which has a lot of people bitching but they just need to wait a little longer as they plan to have some more languages added soon.

Glad you like it, it's not for those who don't want a challenge that's for sure, i tried playing on my own and it's not as much as fun than playing it with some one else.

Games like this with more narrative, I'm like you.

But TES.... I often play em like it's GTA or something. Even the first time I played Morrowind, I went on a thieving and killing spree.

still trying to figure out how to beat griffs crew on tactician. I play with a friend on classic mode, and we just blew through those guys.... im thinking i might go play a different part of the story and come back... the sheer amount of magic armor and health they have at the early levels is tough to deal with.

Running a conjurer/polymorph elf rogue, fane as conjurer, beast as a healing tank, and the wolf guy (what's his face) as a ranged dps, and just getting rolled after we take out 1-2 of his crew.

I do believe only the English language is done which has a lot of people bitching but they just need to wait a little longer as they plan to have some more languages added soon.

Glad you like it, it's not for those who don't want a challenge that's for sure, i tried playing on my own and it's not as much as fun than playing it with some one else.

Yeah, when I first installed it months ago, She asked if it was something we could play together, and I promised when it was released, we get a copy so we could play together. I'm hoping by Christmas time, we can get some solid play time started :)

Games like this with more narrative, I'm like you.

But TES.... I often play em like it's GTA or something. Even the first time I played Morrowind, I went on a thieving and killing spree.

Hahah you and me both, for me, the immersive spell of TES is broken by the uber clunky combat and animations really. You either cheese it, or its just horrible to play with. TES really is about the scenery for me; exploration and don't you dare stand in my way while Im doing this :D The only TES narrative I was a big fan of was Oblivions' actually, and only because I played this on a console I think, no cheats allowed, so forced to put some tape over my walk forward button to max out stealth and what not ;) And then it grew on me, but then again, it was pretty epic narrative overall, more so than Skyrim, as the world got altered as well.

still trying to figure out how to beat griffs crew on tactician.

- Party positioning: get on high ground, behind Griff up the ledge, next to Butter the marksman (if I get my names right). This will force him to take distance from you, possibly even downstairs, so you can capture the whole crew on lower ground (+20% overall dmg is huge). You can then also proceed to block the stairs on both sides with ground effects.
- If you have a versatile (phys/magic) party, focus the casters with phys and the phys with casters (Make 2 groups of 2) Separating them will force more enemy movement = lost AP they cant use to kill you. Also the casters buff magic armor and avoidance, the others dont, so keeping them separate really is a big win.
- Focus fire
- Ensure you have plenty of healing, either pots or resto (scrolls/learned).
- Armor restoration buffs like Fortify *are f.in HUGE* not only early but throughout the whole game. Its free replenishable health pool that scales far better than healing vitality.
- You can pre-cast buffs, this will reduce the cooldown in-combat and gives you free buffs for the first one or two turns; in the case of armor buffs, thats a big bonus because they fall off quickly anyway.

Conjurer / Poly is a nice combo, but what you really want, is to boost Summoning to 10 ASAP. Because, well I won't spoil why, but its OP. My summoner has a small splash of Hydro only, and it works miracles. Also, make sure the Conjurer is an Elf, due to the +1 AP you can get from that, otherwise you'll never have free AP to use other schools (you'll want to keep as many totems up as you can + dimension bolt because its strong, and 2x Infusion). Another reason to pick Hydro is so you can douse fires to create smoke screens, this will give you huge mitigation opportunities (and with good positioning, attacks of opportunity as you force enemies to move around).

Im quite sure they will nerf Conjurer into the ground at some point, right now it truly dominates everything, and you don't even need to stack Int (summons scale off level + skill rank).

Polymorph is an exceptionally weak school early on, simply because its number one perk, the Chicken form which is a great CC, needs to roll against phys armor first. My take on Poly is to pick it up at around level 9-10, because the higher rank spells are crazy useful.

Hope this helps!

I'm going through withdrawal. The wife is in Texas on business since Sunday night and returns tomorrow night. Haven't been able to play due to being the only parent at home. The kids keep me so busy that they have been tucking me into bed since Sunday because I'm worn out.

I'm going to try and sneak out tonight when I put them down so maybe I can get some Divinity time in.

I spent 31 hours playing through Fort Joy before finally moving on to Act II. Fort Joy has a crazy amount of content in it. Just when I thought I'd discovered everything; I would stumble into something new. I left Fort Joy knowing there was even more to do but I was ready.

It's been a number of years since I played such a quality RPG as this game. It is without a doubt my GOTY for 2017.

13 hours now for the first Act, and counting, I have my 'Milestone' hard save set up right before the final fight after which you move to the ship. Third playthrough of Act 1 and I still discovered new stuff everywhere. Its insane! Also, I love how every quest can have anywhere from two to even three or four different outcomes. Literally EVERY actor in the game is part of progression in some form or another, its crazy.

In other news, I just completed the Tyrant's armor set yesterday :D If you need pointers, PM me, I won't spoil the locations here.

Also slowly discovering how incredibly fun it is to play Warfare melee with Necromancy. The synergy... massive life steal, everything destroys physical armor, and blood raining from the sky so you can spotheal to full health at any time for 1 AP. Awesomeness

Still didn't get the black cat through the Fort though :D
