Can I have a tray icon for automatic maintenance windows 10

As the title says.

On windows 8.1 I have a small flag in the tray with a little clock to let me see that it's working, if so I usually let it do it's thing for 20 minutes or so till it's finished for that day.

Is it possible do get a tray icon in windows 10 to see if it's busy with maintenance?

I believe its hidden, but you can still bring it to the front, if that's your thing. There's also a way you can schedule when you want this to happen if you didn't know.

I remember it being in the notification center, but then it stopped appearing, I guess it got removed in the last couple of updates. Do you REALLY need it though? :laugh:

I can usually tell when its working when my hard drive is starting to make seeking noises, and it usually starts after about 10-15 minutes of inactivity. It’s not really a problem if you start and stop it repeatedly, you have a full day ahead of you anyway. :D

Ha, I can't hear my M.2 SSD....:ohwell::p

Also this laptop doesn't have a drive activity led.

I always thought if you interrupt the maintenance it'll start all over again (on windows 8.1 at least)? No?

It will eventually, thats why I said there a full day ahead for that to start and finish.

The weird thing is, I have set the automatic maintenance at 12.00 since I have lunch at that time but it didn't run yet today ... Or perhaps it doesn't run everyday like on windows 8.1?

(I did set the windows module installer service to manual though but I don't think it has anything to do with this maintenance)

If you only use an SSD, this maintenance would probably won’t give you anything benefits anyway, the TRIM commands are part of disk optimization tool, and that can be scheduled separately.

On windows 8.1 it did always a windows defender scan with automatic maintenance, since I'm using defender on this 10 laptop, I think it will scan on this laptop as well when it does maintenance.

Ah yes, of course, almost forgot about that :D
Yeah, the scan happens daily, defender will give you scan reports at the end of the week in your Notification Center.
