The BIOS switch in located at the opposite side to the PCI-E lane. What does it do?

I have seen Gamer Nexus review on that HBM controller influence in performance and it offered no notable performance whatsoever. It's just an AMD marketing trick.

However i will check superposition performance later on

The bios switch is a back up bios, also I believe the right position might be a lower power state but I say I'm not 100% sure till my Fluke clamp meter arrives tomorrow.

And don't believe what GN has to say, Honestly he even admitted he ran the test prior to the drivers that were just released while he was filming ;)

HBCC isn't a gamic nor an AMD trick.. It actually works on a few benches but some drivers it's busted so I believe your driver that your using does work.

Just be sure to check if it's on and if it isn't then turn it on and hit apply.. If the screen doesn't blank out and the Crimson driver don't load back up then it didn't take.
Just do it again and it'll work. It's a bug and is being fixed..

Here's a benchmark of 3DMark comparison I ran today.

The left score is HBCC on and the left score HBCC is off :D

Let's start with some basic things here: WHERE is the HBMC switch guys? I can't find a single link in google about anyone talking how to "turn this on"...

In my radeon settings/global settings there page is no HBCC section. The last thing i see is frame rate target control.

Your having some problems mate , it should be right there near that but your older driver might be the cause.

re-download the driver and DDU it with version DDU v 17.0.7.2

After that go to C: drive and delete the top AMD folder.

Install the driver and select custom and let it install. It should pick up the device and install the proper options..

@Fluffmeister we get your in 290x territory... we get it! now please post some info or split.. dam green trolls :fear:

I've learned something about the AMD folder in relation to system restore at least in Windows 7 if you delete the driver folder that's inside of it system restore can fail to revert to the previous driver I don't know if that applies to Windows 10 or not

It's "fucked"? It's "borked"? What a crock of shit. All cards score lower on 1080P Extreme. That's just how it is. There's not A DAMN THING wrong with the benchmark.

Good deal @Artas1984 I hope you enjoy your card as mush as I do. And thanks for the link :toast:

I will be enjoying this card for as little as i can. I am planing on selling it separately or with an assembled computer. Evga GTX1080 SC that i had prior gave me a much happier experience - more performance, more quite, less hot, less power draw and no driver problems. Sure, RX Vega 56 is not a fail, but it's a disappointing product having in mind the price is the same as that of Evga GTX1080 SC!

Cheers fullinfusion, you helped me out great anyway!

It's amazing how late to the party Vega is, but hey you gave it a go fella. I always in enjoy your benchmark comparison threads regardless.
