sapphire 7970 ref board bios 1 and 2 bricked

hi all
I have a 7970 that i would love to get going for a friend, now back in the day I brought this card as faulty so I tried to fix it with a bios flash and managed to brick both the 2 bios chips, now Ive heard there is a short PIN 1+8 on the bios chip but i cant find them on the card itself. Any help would be great.

Find an old review of a reference card, AnandTech and TPU are good choices go to pages where they have close up shots they tend to point out the bios chip there.q

@CAPSBOY , did you check if your cards appear in Device Manager, when you plug them into PC?
If yes, then you can use ATI WinFlash to restore the stock BIOS.
If not, then it can only be done via an external SPI flash programmer.

BTW, shorting pins is only used to ensure that the WP pin is disabled (write protection). It doesn't do squat to fix the corrupted VGA BIOS.

thanks guys and yes the card wont show up in control panel and even atiflash in dos .. still cant find the bioschip too .. went a looking but no luck
