I periodically have asked around and not found many in my various circles (mostly technically oriented folks) that are using Edge. I woulda said last year that from those polled it was about 25% Firefox, 50% Chrome, 10% IE, 5% Edge, and 5% Opera and 5% Other. Today it would seem Chrome usage is dropping with most of those switching to FF. Many switchers have told me that they like the look and feel of Chrome but where frustrated in that it would work fine on one box and not on another., with the "nots" having the box's performance improve significantly one Chrome was removed. I have tried troubleshooting some of these myself and hit a wall. I have to wonder is what you are seeing is similar to those situations whereby a fix is elusive. I just haven't spent any time with Edge to point you in any specific direction than web searches and hopefully find an answer ina forum somewhere... I tried that w/ Chrom on those troublesome boxes and really didn't get anywhere.

This is because Chrome has binaries that start with the system and run in the background even when the browser isn't running. FireFox doesn't do this. Couple that with the fact that the newest version of FF is blazing fast, now uses less ram space and it's just a better experience all around.

Dude, like WTF?!!

Ok 1st off I didn't get the update as I just got home and checked and Edge is working like nothing even happened :kookoo:

I got an ISO image from a trusted source, used Rufus to make it bootable off thumb stick and I thought lets check once more and it works..

I wonder if it was an issue with M$ servers on Monday  But it works... everything works :peace:

Well I learned a few things today thanks to you all and also have the Image I needed..

Thanks guys for the tips and help :respect:
The edge issue has to do with Cortana. I do installs all the time. Turn her settings off. Sync with MS. Then turn her back on and sync. Reset Edge in the apps menu. Edge should work after that.

how do you do that exactly without loosing anything from the MS store and such or am I thinking of something else?

Problem number two, if I click on start, my app window opens, and I see all the shit that I don't want installed so I right click and select uninstall but yet the app icon remains. I actually have to select unpin for it to disappear. Even if I go into settings and select apps and select uninstall it does the same thing. It says it's uninstalled but yet that app icon remains..
Yeah that's normal and sucks, happens to me every single time.

Problem number one is Microsoft Edge browser. It launches but when I type in the search bar and click enter Edge does nothing for close to two minutes. If I type in Google, Bing by default shows me google.com and when I click on it nothing happens. If I give it a few minutes the web page will open.
Right after installation that's normal. Seems the system is doing some shit in background which seriously lags Edge.. I just want it to download Firefox, so I won't ever have to use Edge/IE again

Also if you uninstall OneDrive, it will come back after Windows Update, and you might have to manually remove its icon from Explorer after uninstall

You make a new whatever admin account, delete the screwed up account then re make it from the new admin account.
From what I can tell windows setup is incorrectly setting up accounts creating accounts after windows has been installed seems to work fine.
All your apps and such should be tied to that MS account so you wont lose anything you have purchased.
