Hi. I use my pc for gaming and i have a 6970 2GB. I play mostly fps and sport games (Overwatch, CoD, PES2018, NBA2K18 etc) always at 1920x1080. I can buy from a friend a 1050TI 4GB for ~100 euros. Do you thing its a good upgrade for the money or not? Should i buy it or pass? Thank you.

6970 vs 1050TI

it would be a large jump in RAM amount by 2Gb (which you wont really see a huge jump in perf from as you run only 1080p, but still good to have), and it would be around 45% Performance in games roughly, obviously hat number would be game dependent. Id say it would be a decent upgrade , Id do it.
How does the 6970 work for you?? is it lacking, or causing issues for You?

Your looking at about 25-35% better performance with much lower power draw
If your 6970 is giving 30 FPS your likely 7-8 FPS increase putting you at or close to 38 fps. Overclocking teh 1050Ti will give about 7-10% more performance as well.
Its a worthwhile upgrade for a more modern and better supported GPU.
Look at GPU reviews and you can figure the 6970 is roughly similar to the RX 460
6970 falls between the 7850/7870 that were then rebranded into the 270 series. which carried over to the 370 series and is roughly comparable with the RX 460.
Keep in mind I am being conservative as such you may very well see a larger performance jump.

Not any issues. Tbh this pc is used by my kids (12 and 10 years old) and right now the 6970 is still ok for their needs, but i m thinking if the 1050TI is a good upgrade for ~100 euros then why not.

you would be able to run newer games, my friend had a 6970 and he couldnt even start SW BF2. He grabbed a RX 550 due to mining prices and now he can play the game.

well, offer sounds nice, also the fact that you will be lowering consumption and heat, ill go for it, your 6950 is a little aged, could fail or end working pretty soon, price seems decent on the 1050ti, i'll get it, oc and enjoy new and smooth game experience

As long as the condition is good and you trust the seller, I would say take it. The market right now is terrible and GPUs are selling for two or more times what their actual value is. I don't know exactly what €100 translates into US dollars ,but I'm guessing it's roughly what the MSRP would be for that card brand new. It's a good buy, and if you don't take it I know others will.

I'd get the 1050 Ti. Twice the Vram, higher performance, actual driver support (Didn't AMD drop VLIW a while back?) and significantly lower power consumption. For 100€ that is a really good deal IMO.

yea 15.7.1 is the legacy driver.
I would def go for the 1050 TI, my friend has one and he loves what it does for the price he paid. Current gen arch will have good driver support for a few years at least.

Considering the State Crypto mining has had on both the New and the Used market
