If your +5 and +12V voltages were truly doubled as those images imply, your computer would not start at all.

Frankly, I have seen the ASUS anti-surge feature cause more problems than it is worth. Many problem are resolved just by disabling that feature. Still, it would be prudent to swap in a known good power supply just to verify your current supply is good.

a good quality power strip to plug everything into would eliminate the need for the anti-surge feature.

True already ordered corsair RM850X.

Thanks guys :)
You have ordered an 850 watt unit for the system you listed in your first post? Could have saved yourself some money there.

Why?
Uh - Lets see......

7 year old PSU and the issue is voltage spikes/fluctuation.
Power supply surges were detected....
And anti-surge was triggered.

True, the anti-surge feature could be the issue but considering how old it is, better to go ahead and grab a new PSU before the entire thing goes up in smoke and you'd best hope flames aren't involved with that if it does.
Replacing it is cheap insurance vs the potential for disaster that could affect more than just the PC itself..... As in your home and everything else you have.
I don't mind the fire department guys but don't want them dropping in for a visit, hoses and all.

The problem was Asus antisurge being a dick. But frankly I missed it being 7 years, but the PSU is likely fine.

An 80+ Gold PSU with a 10 year warranty, and enough to power pretty much any system he might want to build in the next 10 or so years. Sure...he could probably get by with less. But that PSU will pay for itself, or at least for the price difference from a cheaper/lower powered/less efficient unit, eventually.

I'm a bit of an "extreme" user. But my days of trying to use the cheapest, barely enough to get by, PSUs are over. Having killed every single one I ever owned. Finally wised up. Spent the extra $100. Got the 10 year warrantied 1000W. Could have saved hundreds of $$$ if I'd done that 10 years ago. ;)

My point is a similar specced 600/650W would be more than sufficient with some headroom, in the UK the saving for the same model lined PSU would be around £40 so approx. $53. The RM650 over here is £89.99, the RM850 is £129.99...…… obviously I agree, if money is not a problem then go for a margin that makes it more future proof providing you feel you may be putting more serious hardware in there at some point.

There's several versions of the TX around....

CMPSU-750TX was made by CWT
CMPSU-750TX was made by CWT-PSHII series
CMPSU-750TXV2 was amde by Seasonic- S12II series
TX750 (75-001309 / CP-9020042) were made by Chicony
CMPSU-750TXM was made by CWT-PSHIII series
TX750M (75-001310 / CP-9020040) were made by Chicony
TX750M (CP-9020131) is made by Great Wall

As i recall, the pinnacle of the line (S12 based) had a 5 year warranty. I never used any but the v2 and thos ein budget builds. At 7 years of age, it's time to replace if there's any concern

Ya system needs 400 watts ... Id go with a Seasonic S12 / M12 520 (S12 $39) ... 620 will cost ya $8 more. The M12 (modular) is $49
