Cheers! So when I do get the SSD and install it in, how do I make the OS run off the SSD? Would I need to reinstall the OS? Or can you just swap it over from the Hard drive?
I was also looking at the possibility of getting more ram, maybe an extra 4gb or something, if that's even worth it? Plus is there a difference in MHz of ram, mine is currently 8gb of 1333mhz, my board can support 1600mhz, or is it just a gimic?

1. Re format or fresh install is always the best alternative, be sure to backup your important files, and also to use space wise, if you get a 128GB SSD you can use it for full OS and daily programs and maybe 1 or 2 games you play the most, or the current played ones, no more than that, secondary drive, your older HDD would be your personal drive to store music, videos photos and all your related items, data and other programs, SSD could be smaller in size compared to your previuos drive, but faster, thats the way i use SSD.
2. for ivy bridge and sandy, 1333 and 1600 does mostly the same, i will add another identical set of 8GB for your ram, to make 16GB and take full advantage of your dual channel configuration and instructions for the processor, adding just 4 GB more will make the PC slower cause it cannot matches the dual channel memory protocol, so if possible upgrade to 16GB, matching your current 8GB with another identical set, same amount per dimm and freq!

Great Samsung are excellent choices so is crucial and hyper X ones, be wise when purchasing, i love 128 GB ones and also 64's ones, but thats a personal choice and decision!

Agreed, I've had lots of the Samsung models that are great, the evo line is generally decently priced, l don't have much use on my hyperX however it's a decent performer, and I've had probably 5 crucial drives that have all been wonderful. I'd personally probably pick the crucial if you're on a budget because they generally have pretty good prices and pretty good and frequent sales.

It costs around 60-70 for it, but I notice when playing Inquisition on my 1070ti (got one for a bargain price and barely used it's great) the ram usage on task manager is about 80%.

well your rig scalated pretty quickly, 16 GB ram in total, makes a hugh difference, paired with your new GTX 1070ti, will be a sweetspot to reach, SSD could wait, i'll match the 16GB with another 8GB kit, then save later for the SSD,

I'm fnding it hard to get a single 8gb stick of 1333, but I'll keep looking (I swear it's like looking for a gold nugget at the moment, can you trust buying used RAM? ) . As for the 1070ti, well that happened quicker than I thought to, it's the gigabyte 1070ti gaming 8G one which I chanced upon for an amazing price. Reason being was only used for a few months from a small business and I took it while I could, and for 1080p I think it'll be more than enough. Runs like a charm, very pleased with it.

My experience going from 8GB to 16GB was more noticeable than moving to an SSD (from a single HDD) as my OS drive. If I had to choose one over the other I'd go with the RAM.

don want to be the grumpy ass here, but honestly taking in mind that Ti variant for high end GeForce models is almost the last to be announced, this seems that much fake to me, mostly when the box says GTX2080 and the story was supposed to be Ti, also arts and prints of the box does not look that legit,

So I checked ebay and had a look at some used ram and even they were expensive but I managed to finally get some at a good price. So I ordered 16GB of DDR3 ram 1600mhz Kingston Hyper-x fury for $100 (used and tested) which was really good considering a brand new stick of standard 8GB ram was $95. Hopefully this will do! I'll just take out my old ram when it arrives and sell it.

Hey again, I've been looking around at ssds and was wondering if the WD blue SSD drive 250gb is any good consdering its about $20 cheaper than an evo. I've taken into account that I need to buy a bracket and another sata cable which will still be cheaper than an evo. One other thing, I was also looking at keyboards as I have a standard keyboard and was wondering about any good ones that aren't ridiculously pricey, and whether the membrane to mechanical switch is really worth the extra. Some possible candidates:

Logitech G213- $75
Logitech G413- $105
Logitech G513- $124
Asus Cerberus MK2- $80
or maybe others, I'm not too sure, as I've said nothing too over the top but just something to polish off the upgrades I've already done. Cheers!

I, personally, am a bit "iffy" with anything WD and Blue. Get yourself a Crucial, find it on sale, be happy for years and years. My current Crucial...

7365 hours. 306+ Days of use, 16% of it's Lifetime used. I Crunch for WCG 24/7. This computer gets, rebooted and is rarely turned off for any amount of time. I bought and installed this MX100, back in November of 2014.

I'm not sure there are any Sammy's still swinging from 2014. ?

the most important thing on SSD's is write and read speeds, read speeds determinate how fast will read and start for example, and write speed will be your saving and opening time mostly, thats why we advise Samsung ones, also crucial ones are recommended too, i havent used a WD one,

About keyboards, what would you like for keyboard? and how much would you like to spent on it?
i like mechs ones, but plunger ones have not that much to envy'em, and they are cheaper, compared to mech ones,

$65 for that SSD is attracting, im wondering between Kingston V400 256 and WD HDD 500GB for my portable 2.5" enclosure, since i left USB sticks or pendrives, SSD / HDD usb drives are my main option for data traveling and storage,

About keyboards, i like mechs as stated before, but the price tag still high in most, so i decided to give a try to another cheap options, then found Tt' Plunger system, is awesome place to stay, also there several units with this feature:

Alright, well I picked up a Logitech g213 vkeyboard for a good price and am loving it at the moment, along with a g300s mouse which completes it. I'm still looking at ssds and I've seen they have a kingstons 250gb ssd for $65, whether it just as good. I'm mainly looking to put my os onto it and a few other program because I am not too worried about load times in the games I play. I've also been looking into monitors as I have a philips 226v monitor and was wondering whether or not to upgrade to a better 1080p monitor? If it's worth it. I've seen an asus 23.5" monitor for $120 with 2ms response or a asus vp228 for $99 at 1ms response. Otherwise I'll just stick with my current monitor. Anyone know if the samsung curved monitors are good? There's one at 23.5 inch for $145 whether it's just an aesthetic thing.

Now that it all seems complete I was thinking of maybe upgrading the case as it seems a little cramped, well I'd call it cosy, as I have a stock standard case. It has the psu on the top not that it's effecting anything at the moment, and cooling seems okay but if there are any good resonable cases out there, I'd like to know! (Also as it turns out my cpu cooler was facing the wrong way towards the rear exhaust fan which was blowing out whilst my cpu fan was sucking in, now after having changed it around and reapplying thermal paste again, it seems to be running more efficiently!(I assumed it blew out as my stock fan did))

(I would change the heading but I am not sure how to)

im insterested on new video card or new monitor, im totally decided to get me a 1440 one, ill be taking more the SSD into consideration, cuz it will bring a boost on all reads, loads and OS bot, as we advised before, Samsung, crucial are well known options, besides that you might consider price / vs performance, for example the SSd you mentioned from kingston is far away from samsung read speeds, but price and capacity are interesting, so make up your mind and focus what would you like to get,

i love case upgrades, cable management and so, there are several options around when the topic comes to cases, do you have your eyeball put on a few, or no ideas? i like a lot some new cases, and the important thing here is you can save a lot since used market is always having great options for cheap, and cases my friend does not worn of have a expected lifetime,
