Hi guys , so now i'am saving up for an upgrade for my pc , i will upgrade to 8gb of ram and i will keep my 750 TI for a while , but i am really confused about which CPU should i go for , the I5 2550k or the i7 870 (i know they are quite old but this is what i can afford and i prefer to buy an old i7 or i5 instead of a new stupid pentium).
As i know , all what games need is 4 cores and 8 threads and a fast clock speed , the i7 has 4 cores and 8 threads while the i5 has only 4 threads but a higher base clock ( turbo frequencys for both CPUs are very close,3.7 and 3.8 GHz) so it's really confusing me .
Note : i will pair the i7 with GA-H55M-S2 and the I5 with GA-H61M-DS2 , both DDR3 8 GB RAM 1600 MHz (4x2) + i may sell my 750 ti and buy a used 760.
