I guess that can happen If you make a limited supply of cards, I dare say Nvidia probs knew a $1200 card was not going to be there main cash cow, the supply is a massive "head ache" for Nvidia and supply chain thats it.

Not issue within the gpu it's self ,so no i don't believe for one moment it's a massive problem, they can have money back or wait for replacement whats so massive about that?

I could be wrong, but that's how i see it.

Retail stock is consistently empty. RMA's are slowing down and customers can no longer know when they'll receive replacements. It's all connected... as one big massive issue.

Right? Aren't the enthusiasts suffering enough already? Autodidacticism at its finest.

retail stock is near none resistant and i dont think its because of excess demand.. i think there is a real problem somewhere along the line.. i bought my 2080ti a week back.. knowing what i know now i think i would hold back until this issue whatever it is gets sorted..

so far my card seems okay and i have thrashed it just to make sure.. but.. he he..

BS excuse: "Because threads like this happen every time a new card is released".

Fact: No. They do not. This is a massive issue because it IS NOT THE NORM!!!

Don't downplay it if all you have to backup your statements are BS excuses with no evidence to substantiate them.

LoL

take a pill man ... i'm just fool'n with some humor .. to me this probs just a bad batch, much like what happened with microsoft Scorpio xbox, these things happen it's not like they don't.

stay calm Nvidia will resolve this minor issue with those few who it's effected, business as normal.

The only thing i think, could/would be a head ache for Nvidia, is if they haven't kept some stock back for RMA issues, which one person was moaning about, when they apparently told him he will have to wait longer than norm due to stock or lack of.

Haven't read through all of these posts, TL ; DR
However, I'm having no problems at all with my 2080. It's working perfectly. Not OCing and have no intention to as the card exceeds by a great margin what I need out of it.

Damn, I was going to ask for a free gay hug... :D
Eww? And what would make a hug "gay" as opposed to any other hug?

Save that condescension for someone else. I benchmarked and stress tested it when I got it and reading these posts, I did it again. No issues.

My hypothesis is that there are some faulty VRM's in the wild that are causing the problems. They're not blowing themselves, but could be failing to provide enough or proper voltage to the VRAM or GPU die.

Honestly didn't mean it like that , just hope it's a good card for you , same as anyone buying something new.
I agree it's definitely not pandemic yet btw likely a limited batch issue.
You got no bro to hug or something, ah well.

Oh ok, it's all good then. Yeah, it's been a blast! No framerate issues on any of the games I play. And that is with all settings except AA cranked to max.

That's what it seems like. I really doubt this is NVidia's fault. More like a vendor of some sort cutting corners and cheaping out in some manner.

Most of the reports refer to the FE editions.

Not sure how cutting corners plays into it. Given what Buildzoid has said about the reference design.

I think Zotac and Asus was mentioned in one of the links or i might be wrong lol can't remember or be bothered to look :)

As for the FE Bang goes the : Quote
"craftsmanship. Bennett sounds reasonably satisfied that Nvidia's promise of crafting the best possible GeForce GTX card, with the most reliable components and cooling, has substance underpinning it"

Ok that is interesting. Mine is a 2080, not a ti. It's also an EVGA. Maybe EVGA sourced better parts for it's cards?

Based on that and other information elsewhere, I'm now very inclined to believe the problem is with the VRM's feeding the VRAM power not the memory chips themselves.

The FE cards are over engineered to begin with.

salty_sandwich do you even read ? stop making up excuses. you think you're funny ?

from what I gathered there's a whole batch of bad 2080ti cards.this is not every rtx card failing as you're wrongly saying, but if half or a third of 2080ti's do,it is a massive problem. we don't need a jester here.

We are very calm, you are the one camping this topic right now, did you notice?

The topic title is just fine. Massive issue or bad batch, its worth knowing there is something going on and could be good reason to wait a bit on purchasing the card.

Everything else is irrelevant, including all of this emotional nonsense.

I work with someone who had to RMA his 2080 Ti because it started artifacting after ~5 days of ownership. He said that it got progressively worse as time went on. In the end he lit a fire under nVidia and ended up ripping them a new one after they basically told him that it would be almost a month until he'd get an RMA. In the end, they overnighted a new 2080 Ti to him and so far it works fine from what he said.
