My Razor death adder has just packed up, looking for a new one. Ive spotted these 3 just wanna hear what you think about them each;

I personally think the Steelseries is best, but should i go wireless? and are all the buttons needed?

This is mostly a matter of preference, but if you're doing competitive gaming, you absolutely don't want wireless anything. The additional buttons can be useful, but aren't necessary. You can bind them to things you might normally have to hit an awkward keyboard key for (like Z to go prone or something) or set up specific macros that do fancy things, like switch to grenade, throw grenade, switch back to weapon 3 or something.

Happy G502 owner but I love the Logitech “shape” For competitive purposes it has a “sniper button” that instantly drops your DPI to your lowest setting and back when you release it. I’m not competitive but I can see how handy it could be.
Definitely avoid wireless in a competitive environment.

G403 wireless (which is 100% the same as the G703) have done me amazingly well as gaming mice, i've got a G903 i 'upgraded' to because it was $50 second hand, otherwise i'd still be on that 703.

modern wireless gaming mice like these have ZERO lag issues, and battery life is around a week for the high performance models (months for the non-gamer ones)

Care to explain why you're still stuck at 5 years ago ? I've had g403 for 7 months and I can say I never once noticed any problems, neither has anyone. Its been going down in price steadily too. The experience of a lightweight wireless mouse is amazing for fps shooters, I'd advise anyone to consider wireless only at this point.There's plenty of good wireless mice but going with logitech is a safe bet. There's also the cheaper g603 wireless that's been getting good reviews.

There's also the cheaper g603 wireless that's been getting good reviews.

actually more than that ... i would definitely avoid Razer in a competitive environment (heck in any environment)

and recommend a G502 for wired or a G603/403 for wireless (i would also avoid steelseries, with Razer and Madcatz ... it's the only 3 brand where gears from them chronically suffered failures )

which was kinda their second wireless gaming mouse (after the G700 pfff ) and it was quite good for any kind of game i played with ... 2ms

plus also the Powerplay combo from Logitech is kinda removing that (ok you see a wire ... but not restraining your hand) 1ms

back to the roccat Nyth lately because no mouse has a 12 button thumbpad in wireless ... (nope Razer Naga wireless is not a mouse ... or an option, it's a p.o.s) ... i should try the Roccat Leadr

We discussed this process in our Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum review. There's a misconception with users that wireless input devices are inherently slower than their wired counterparts, when the reality is that the opposite can be true – and is, with the G900 and G403 wireless.

Not once did we notice input latency or RFI; speaking to performance, the wireless G900 behaved just as a high-end, wired alternative might.

i did, some regional tournament (FPS/RTS/MOBA/MMO Arena) and used the G602 (Hi rate at 2ms) without any issue

but the G602 only had 125Hz (8ms) or 500Hz (2ms) for report rate unlike the G603/403/903 1000Hz

for Logitech the Powerplay system combo (mouse plus mousepad) make the difference, with it : 1ms (Hi rate wireless), without it : between 7.5 and 11.5ms (bluetooth) 8ms (Lo rate wireless)

in short: for wireless competitive: only Powerplay (not that the mouse is unusable without it ofc)

The price of the G900 though... I’m a diehard Logi guy since the G5 but man...and it doesn’t have the Logi “shape” which disappoints me. I hope for $150 it would keep up with a wired product...

the G900 is obsolete pay more for the G903 now ... and enjoy a wireless that can go toes to toes with a wired (tested it but well too expensive for me )

i am also a Logi die hard fan (well i'm Swiss ... that's also a factor) tho i sold my G502 (not enough buttons ... ) and the G600 does not fit me (shape) G602 was good (but not enough buttons) ... WHEN will logi do something else than "generalized shape" or "pro gaming" shape ... ffs i get it it's popular but there is a serious lack of good 12 button thumbpad in the wireless sector, as i mentioned my only option is the Roccat Leadr which has almost enough button but dispersed on the mouse (well i used the Tyon for a long while ... and the button placement is the same ... that should not be an issue in the end )

Mouse choice is subjective as hell. The main concerns are how it fits your hand based on your grip type, size of the hand, how light/heavy you like a mouse etc.

As long as you do a little googling and check reviews for any obvious issues I would not worry about wireless. The only part about wireless you should think about is battery life and recharge options. These days most wireless mice allow you to just connect the USB cable and keep on playing so unless battery gets empty at a really bad time it's not a problem.

Can vouch for the G502. Brilliant piece of kit. A bit on the heavy side, but its a palm/thumb gripper anyway. Not the kind of mouse to 'throw around' on a large pad. In that sense, figure out for yourself whether you prefer palm or fingertip (claw) grip mice. It will narrow things down fast.

About wired or wireless: I really don't see the relevance of it. But its a fact that wireless increases price while introducing some (minor) drawbacks. There is a battery and there is a chance of signal interrupts. No matter how good the tech is.

If you take the mouse to LAN parties and competitive events, wireless is not an option in any case.

I'd advise anyone to consider wireless only at this point.

Complete and utter BS advice. There are many ways to avoid cable woes, the simplest being just having the cable rest on your desk, like 99% of users do. Wireless is a solution looking for problems that barely exist.

If you have even the slightest problem/fault, and you purchased it from a retailer that's legitimate, you email logitech proof of purchase, and they send you a new mouse, it's that easy . I normally keep at least two or three of them on hand , The fact that you can buy them for a little over 40 bucks on sale sometimes makes it even easier

Yeah Logitech is great like that I’ve had fellow sim racers have issues with their wheels and Logi sent them another one, no big deal. Not a small ticket item.

My mouse wheel felt like it was skipping a click ,so I contacted logitech, they asked me for my proof of purchase, and five days later, I got a new mouse ,I didn't even have to send them the old one , they just tell you to cut the cord on it ,and throw it in the trash.

It also happens to be a spectacular mouse. The fact that it has its own memory storage, so you can unplug it from your computer,& plug it in to a different computer that you've never used before ,and all your settings and macros ,and light customizations are still there is great. Its also got amazing perf

Yeah I went G5, G500, G502 I think it’s the perfect mouse. The friend who got the replacement wheel actually offered it to me because he didn’t actually like it. But yeah they have great customer service and we’ll ive never had to use them yet as my mice have well lived past their expiration date and just failed from use. Heck my G5 it was one of the DPI buttons that stopped and well I never used them anyway it was just an excuse to buy a G500

Even though my 403 has a light,soft cable I never game with the wire attatched and feel the difference instantly.I prefer to have dpi set rather conservatively but have the freedom to move the mouse around fast and precisely, that's why for a light FPS mouse, g403 wireless is just perfect. You may deny, but that's where we are heading. I'm sure if 10 people who play fps on a wired mouse tried g403, the majority would forget their wired mouse forever. As long as you turn off rgb stuff, it can last for days.

Gotcha. I can definitely see why it is nice for a light, FPS claw gripper to throw it around.

And yet I’ve always loaded up all the weights in my Logis. But I’m a palm grip using 1500 DPI. I prefer the weight. To me light is just to easy to whip around.
