hi all im quite new here, and frankly im also very not tech savvy... please be nice and help only if you want to :)
i have:
intel core i-7 4790 @3.60ghz
Ram is 8gb (i know i may need 16gb)
my monitor is 144hz
and my GPU is NVIDIA RTX2070

ive posted this on another forum and was attacked harshly for being "dumb" and lets be honest i only game, ive never understood much about the hard intricate words and numbers when it comes to PC's and what best goes with what. there are so many products out there...
so my issue is that i had a perfectly fine working pc until i decided to get a higher gpu to play fallout 76 and other games (my go to game for a quick fix, is csgo) and decided to get the RTX2070. I was was told to get a better power supply so i opted for the 700W power supply as opposed to my 550w (i had a gtx970 previously)
i have noticed when i started on fallout 76 with rtx2070, everything was quite okay.. slightly better than gtx970. And all though, super choppy when im playing csgo. I get a frame rate of an average 150 and best of 230 in csgo currently. and was 250 with gtx970.
below screenshots are during in-game right now..

http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/19/02/04/sak.png
my fps at the time was 180

so my question is to you savvy people, does the screenshots show somethings off to you?

please disregard if it is in the wrong thread..
thanx a bunch for your time :)

Those screenshots show the new GPU is performing fine - which means the FPS drops/stutter are coming from somewhere else in the system

What brand/model PSU did you change to? Wattage means almost nothing, as a brand name 350W can perform better than a cheap chinese 1000W

Hi chucklet, welcome to the forum.

I would agree with Zombiekiller. Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to clean up the old graphics driver and install the latest one. It involves a little reading, and keep your Windows Password ready, when DDU asks you if you would start in Save Mode.

DDU website: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

From you screenshots i think everything looks fine. CPU-Temperatures, Memory usage and GPU all together.

Check too, if you Monitor is running at 144Hz. A driver installation might reset it to 60Hz.
Completely shut down your webbrowser when you game, they eat a lot of memory these days especially with sveral tabs open. And take a look if you Windows Disk if full or nearly full. SSDs tend to get really slow if they are filled up.

I wish you luck that you find the reason :)

I ended up getting a Thermaltake Smart RGB 700W PSU... i think its an ok brand? i thought? :/

After switching cards did you perform a fresh/clean install of the nvdia drivers?

Oh and ...
Welcome to TPU ! :lovetpu:

please fill out https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/account/specs when you have time.

Thermaltake are okay PSUs, but they're far from the best. Their cheaper lines are garbage, imo.
nvidia drivers have a wipe option when installing them.

So many things could cause this stutter...

Running out of ram
CPU/VRMs overheating
HDD loading slow
antivirus/updates in background
server lag

CSGO could be different settings, for all we know you let something like Geforce experience optimize your settings and its cranked up graphics options higher than you previously had
