Just sell them, they can scale decently on very old games that have proper SLI support, but on any games after 2014-2015, they would have a hard time to even run games properly on SLI, let alone its architectural limitations now. An RX 590, or GTX 1070 will be a nice addition for gaming, but for 4K, definitively the RTX 2080 Ti can help a bit.

What are you doing to make your games run so bad on your system?

Turn flex off for KF2, it looks cool but it absolutely kills your FPS. I get about 70fps @ 5120x2160 on my pair of 780 Ti's with it off.
In L4D2 I get about 100-150+ fps with each gpu only at ~60-70% usage with the same res & 8x MSAA.

No throttle ?
EDIT : I guess Skyn3t vBIOS, but how far you pushed them with water ?

PS. Quick comparison of R9 390X, GTX 1080 and GTX 780 Ti (Kepler with skyn3t vBIOS locked at 1020MHz) : LINK + LINK

It removes TDP/Power limits, if you hit them on low temps.
"Factory boost", and actual clock speeds are two different things on Big Kepler.
In short : Usually, you get limited by temps first (83C default), however, next thing that limits your clock speed is power/TDP (last one Vrel or max. voltage point).

Now : What is the max. clock speed you see in games ?
Is it really only 1080MHz ?

That's... a bit sad. But since they are DCu IIs, I only want to clarify : Are they watercooled ?
I assumed they were, since you mentioned a radiator in first post.

yhe sure, I never let video cards run without water, they go 80 degrees it the toster :x
I gived it a go, got 90 mhz so now it 1160, is it possible to run different frequencies for each card in SLI mode ?

lel man money realy have no value to you ? riser on ebay is costing 2$ with shipping :)
actually now that you mention it 100$ mybe I should buy another 780 Ti to do SLI with 4 .... :)

Lel dude you actually made the decision in the past to buy a second card to SLI an old card :D

IMHO all this sli and crossfire fiasco is over and it should have never begun since the support for games was terrible and micro shuttering was present most of the times and/or incompatibility. People with SLI/crossfire in the past were waiting like months to be able to play the new released games with they setup ... and others with single cards were having fun !

I was about to make the same mistake ! I was close to buying an RX580 8GB (second hand for 120 USD) to crossfire it and I'm really happy I didn't (bought an 1070GTX 8GB instead - not new and it was ~ 220 USD). The 1070GTX with a decent OC just runs over RX580 in performance all across the board.

Like people have told you sell them as fast as you can and get some money (while they are worth anything) and just get an 1070/1070ti or 1080 card used I'm pretty sure in modern titles an 1070 OCed will blew away your SLI setup by a good margin. Don't compare clock vs clock think about the arhitecture and vram ! In older games maybe but in newer ones you will suffer a lot from not having enough vram.

Also I would say DSR and VSR is not a great idea for older cards ... the functions are made for "current" cards that run older titles that have bad AA implemented or similar things. Even manufactures (AMD for example) says this is the way to go for virtual resolutions...

@Manoa Couple of things:

1 NVIDIA no longer support more than two cards in SLI, so a third wouldn't help, even if you had the right mobo for it
2 You are severely limited by RAM with only 3GB, especially at 4K, hence the low framerate and likely lack of GPU power too. I had a 780 Ti SLI setup some time back and found out that the card ran out of RAM before it ran out of GPU power, even at 1080p in the current Call of Duty of the day (forget which one now). I then got the GTX 1080 in my specs and didn't look back.

The best thing you can do is to eBay those cards and get a single new NVIDIA card. An RTX 2080 will give you a massive boost in framerate.

Um, yes there were. They were rare, but they exist. AIB models, Palit IIRC.
I'd love to have tested them in those CoD RAM limited SLI scenarios I was seeing and seeing how well they'd do. Sigh.

4k is pretty much outside the realm of the 7xx series... My son and I both played Witcher 3 ... I got a bit more fps w/ SLid 780s w/ 27% OC than he got with twin 970s at 1440p .... he later upped to a 1080 Ti, sold the 970s and only invested $70 as I recall. He pretty much plays everything using ULMB. Personally, won't think about 4k until a) we have reasonably affordable 144 Hz screens and 16GB affordable GFX. The nVidia 100xx / 20xx cards we have been only recommending up to 3440 x 1440 but even there no ULMB is a deal killer for me.

My thinking is ...

1080p, 3 GB min / 4 GB recom.
1440p, 6 GB min / 8 GB recom. (1.78 x 1080p)
2160p, 12 GB min / 16 GB recom. (4.00 x 1080p)

3840 x 1440 , 8 GB min / 11 GB recommended

Adding in a 3rd card will net you about 4FPS more. Much like your 780ti's, SLI is dead.

I dont think it will be worth the effort but if you want to waste money then go ahead.

I was a purveyor of dual GPU setups for many years across both camps then decided to call it a day with them after the 970 series. Probably one of the best choices I've ever made as far as being a pc gamer goes.

Not worth the noise, heat, power consumption and heaches with game support

Triple SLI on 7 year old 3GB GPUs...ya. While this might be fun to mess around with, for serious gaming use in 2019 its a complete waste of money that could be used towards a better GPU.

You will run out of VRAM before coming close to using that amount of GPU power. Sell both cards and buy a 1060/1070.

The only time my 780 runs out of vram is when I push more than 1080p. They're still good cards for how cheap they are now.

Thinking used 980 Ti or non-Ti are bit better value.. but thats just my opinion.

Benchmark Scores I've actually never benched it!! Too busy with WCG and FAH and not gaming! :( :( Not OC'd it!! :(
Or maybe rather than run at 4k, just turn the res down??

1080 Ti's aren't too pricey, I was able to grab a water cooled reference model for £300, which I couldn't pass up, so I had it.

Having had and still having, some cards around the 780 Ti performance, you can only push them so far as many have said, they will run out of Vram.. Learnt all about this when gaming at 8064 x 1600 and trying to do that on a pair of 5970's, it never worked well. However grabbing my 3 3Gb GTX 580s, that all changed and worked amazingly :)

But still, turn off some of the mods and you'll find everything runs a whole lot better :) Or grab a newer card like everyone has said.. :)
