EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 XC Ultra is the company's premium GTX 1660 offering that includes idle fan-stop and an excellent cooler that delivers impressive temperatures. Performance of the GTX 1660 beats the Radeon RX 590 with ease.

How is that OC on some real games? Quite hard to compare any way, when there's no reference 1660 fps(were all your 1660 cards OC models, @W1zzard ).

Was first skeptical about $30 bucks increase of prize, but idle FAN off, high max TDP and actually OC capability very much justifies that. So very solid card, well done EVGA.

yeah, there is no reference design

the 1660TI doesnt make an appearance on the chart
since there is no reference design for 1660 Ti either, and all my 1660 Ti cards are OC versions, I didn't include it there. I have ordered a 1660 Ti not long ago which is reference clocked, with reference power limit, so future reviews will have that GTX 1660 Ti data point for power

The only serious downside of this GPU is clearly the memory bandwidth. All other turing GPUs have the bandwidth to perfectly match their GPU horsepower but this one is limited. well, the good news is you can overclock the memory and the better news is that its memory overclocks well enough but the vast majority of buyers of this segment won't overclock, so... they end up getting a GPU which is not quite performing as it should, especially at higher resolutions.
All in all, not a bad product.

Welp the entire Polaris line just become obsolete at their current price. RX590/580 should be priced no more than $170 and $150.

Polaris still good, 580 and 570 still good.
590 never been good,

Lineup of gpu's you should buy depending on budget:
570-580-1660-rtx2060-rtx2080\VII-2080TI.

Sure it bests Polaris but not when you find nice RX 580 8Gb for $180-190 *no rebate*. $185 + 35% = $250

The hard thing to wrap one's head around it's been now almost 3 years with the GP106, and this performance (13%) is plainly stagnation. For what touted as a "new" design or TU116 gelding, it's a sad day for what was Nvidia mainstream (6 Series) offerings. This is Nvidia and the hordes of profit from an 80% hold market share, this is their paralysis of lack of competition. No different than Intel squandered before Ryzen, but here it's really only the gaming community that taking on the chin. Nvidia is just getting rid of binned chips, all while raising the price for them.

A little disappointed, at stock it isn't that much better than 1060 and 580. The overclocked performance is about where it should be though.

It's around RX590 performance. You can order an RX590 Nitro+ for the same price ($220) from Newegg. You get 3 games worth of $180 to it. You get zero for the 1660. RX 580 8GB is $30 cheaper and offers 2 games worth of $120. So your statement is not true.

With nearly the same performance and for the same price, you get an RX590 with one of (if not) the best cooling solution (Sapphire Nitro+) with 3 games included. And you have the Vega56 for $320 (you can get Gigabyte Gaming Vega56 for $280), also including the 3 games. The RTX 2060, slightly faster is $350 with 1 game included. These 2 options are absolutely competitive against their NV counterparts. Vega 64 is worse deal than an RTX 2070.

Two of the reviewed 1660 Ti cards seems to be running at stock clock speeds, Evga and Zotac.

Here's the power consumption for the Zotac cards:

Idle / Multi monitor / Blu-Ray / Average Gaming / Peak Gaming / Furmark

Code:
1660: 10 / 13 / 12 / 108 / 125 / 125 W
1660 Ti: 10 / 14 / 14 / 118 / 122 / 121 W

A little disappointed, at stock it isn't that much better than 1060 and 580. The overclocked performance is about where it should be though.
It's 35 % faster than the 1060 3 GB, can you really expect more than that?

what part of this don't you understand ?
Faster than Radeon RX 590
Very quiet in gaming
Extremely power efficient
Idle fan-stop
Overclocked out of the box
Large power limit adjustment range
Low temperatures

from 1660 review
Actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 16.0%.
from rx590 review
Actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 5.3%.

does it literally have to spell "if you're getting rx590 over this cause of the game bundle you can't be right in the head" ?

we're talking about +20% faster at half power consumption at the same time.

yeah, you get 3 games.you don't get $180.neither of them is worth $60 in the first place,I'd say they're not worth half of that to me or most pc gamers.
giving ppl three games saying it's $180 worth of value returned, this is how amd is keeping the third refresh of the same gcn-based card relevant in 2019.
rx570 is still a beastly deal, and rx580 is neat too,but none of those are able to give you a smooth 60 fps experience anymore across all games.

and there's actually a few 1660 models available at msrp.

It is useless trying to convince someone who is dead set on hating NVIDIA and praising AMD, no matter what amount of fact you put in front of them they can always twist around for their narrative.

In short: do not fit the trolls

it's a bit less than I thought,but still a great 1080p card.Very nice for driving a 1080p/75Hz display at ultra quality.
A few days ago a made a short comparison between 1060 an rx580.I picked 8 new games (18-19) that I'd like to play on my own rig and saw how they did in the TPU test on both cards. Both 1060 and 580 delivered avg. of 64 fps, with 1060 being much more consistent, but still in 2 out of 8 avg. was in 50s.I took the same games again and 1660 delivered 75 fps, delivering at least the avg. of 60 (60-62 in 2 out of 8) and the avg. of +80 in 5 of 8.And on top of that you've got +15% oc headroom. This is not a generational leap, but very nice considering 1660 is exactly where 1060 6gb was price-wise before the launch.
Still,I feel like the 1660Ti is the real deal here for midrange buyers and it shouldve been the replacemeent for 1060.If amd delivers with navi we'll see 1660Ti move into sub $250 range.
Ironocally AMD made it look much, much better with their overpriced polaris refresh. If they sold 590 at 180 it would've at least given people a pause to think.

Awesome price/performance when overclocked. Not a doubt which I'll grab as my next graphics card.
