Need Help regarding Restoring back Games in Steam

Hello everyone,
I hav had a steam account and i had purchased CS GO.
Though not a regular player but yeah i do enjoy it alot!
Alright so I've switched to a new computer and i installed back steam n logged into my old account,since am short on Internet data so took backup of CS GO frm a friend and while i tried to restore this game a message popped that i hav to enter a Steam Product code.
I have no clue about this code and all.
What am i supposed to do now?
All suggestions appreciated.

And sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section.

You might need a backup of your own copy of CS GO here. To me this looks like separate copies are tied to a user and your backup is too.

If you have the files you just need to place then in the proper way within the steam directory.
Not exact but something like
C:/windows/programs/steam/steamapos/csgo
Then when you start steam you can properly install the game with auto activation... When you start the game.

Thats where the problem lies..i did exactly how u mentioned..
Placed the backup files in the steam backups folder n tried to restore but in vain.

I think @Vayra86 might be right.
If it's from a backup it might be linked to an account.
I always use a separate drive for steam and have done what you did and it always worked.
I don't play CS GO.
I hope someone has an answer is it's not account linked.
