At the bottom end of AMD's rather tall new Ryzen 3000 desktop processor product-stack are the Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G APUs. Unlike the rest of the Ryzen 3000 series, these two are based on the monolithic 12 nm "Picasso" silicon, which is essentially "Raven Ridge" redesigned for 12 nm with the "Zen+" microarchitecture. For the quad-core CPU, this means an improved Precision Boost algorithm that scales better across multiple cores, and faster on-die caches. For the iGPU based on the "Vega" architecture, this is a minor speed-bump.

The 3200G is configured with a 4-core/4-thread CPU and 8 out of 11 NGCUs of the iGPU enabled, yielding 512 stream processors. The maximum CPU clock speeds have been dialed up by 300 MHz over that of the 2200G, to now attain 4.00 GHz boost frequency, while the iGPU engine frequency is increased by 150 MHz, to 1250 MHz. The 3400G maxes out the silicon with a 4-core/8-thread CPU, and all 11 NGCUs enabled on the iGPU (704 stream processors). The CPU spools up to 4.20 GHz, and the iGPU up to 1400 MHz. AMD is including a bigger Wraith Spire cooling solution with the 3400G. Prices remain unchanged over the previous generation, with the 3200G being priced at USD $99, and the 3400G at $149, when the processors likely go on sale this July.

You forgot AMD 2017: $110, although not comparable to a i5 7600.

Edit: No APU.

AMD was 20% behind intel at that time, comparing blue apples x red oranges not a good thing hehe, now seems we will be comparing red aples x blue aples hehe + x green apples if nvidia was on the cpu business too.

don't forget these got vega graphics boi, much nicer than that intel hd crap
Oh yes, noted.

Try >30%, according to the TPU 1200 review. ;)

Still, I think it's important to point out that AMD's price have stayed there all the time.

Intel wasn't that bad in pricing in this segment. Sure, you could oc the 1200, but I don't remember how much that helped in games.

Not a bad upgrade for A320 owners. I have friends with A8 9600s (FX AM4s).

Now, for us B350+ owners, let's speak about 7nm Zen2 APUs.

Glad to see the better cooler. The Wraith Stealth always seemed overwhelmed with the 2400G and would ramp up speed too much. Also, curious where the Vega graphics will clock. The 2400G could hit 1600 fairly easily.

APU: HBM + 7nm + 6 (12 threads) core lacking PSP + 1440p-suited Navi with new motherboard and case design for sub-30 decibel noise (and no coil whine) at full load and high performance.

I don't care if it's not feasible/profitable. Want it anyway.

With the list of processors from AMD. I'm sure AMD is saving something in the core department. Intel is struggling to deliver more than 8c for desktops with a reasonable price and I think AMD is using this for any surprises Intel might come up with. I just take it that way maybe you got different feeling.
The other thing is. What would be the OC potential if any? 5Ghz sounds sexy but it isn't just about the frequency :)

With the Athlon 2xx the Pentium has been made obsolete, for about a year or so. Not to mention the Pentium wasn't even in stock most of the times, when in stock it was overpriced for a good while!

I think you have to wait til 2021 before we see next evolution with socket designs AM5, TR5 and possibly a new apu socket?
My guess for current gen:
Next APU will probably see some cache for the gpu portion, higher ddr4 speeds will feed the gpu better and let's say a GTX 1050TI level of performance in their apu's isn't out of reach :)

I can't wait for the "Game cache" thing to die. No one will adopt this moniker and AMD should just stop. Nothing wrong with L1, L2, and L3 cache. And if you want to group it all together, just call it "cache" and save a word.

That was later, we were specifically talking about 2017.

:)

Well I could OC every single R5 2400G I have bought to 4.1 GHZ. Something I could not do with my 1700 and now we should be able to get 4.4+ with the 3400G. These APUs are my favourite to build systems with. So 7nm or the lack thereof is not necessarily a deal breaker.

7nm give better frecuencies, 4.5ghz (or more) in APU will be acceptable

1.36V is a little high for base clock speed. I am not sure if that tool is tracking the voltage properly

Also found the well know Quad core ES in the Manual- looks like it can be OCed to 4.7Ghz- Ryzen 3 is coming?
