Seen this on steam today and decided to pick it up, it's a bit different from my usual FPS and modern warfare shooter type games that I generally play, but the reviews are overwhelmingly positive despite it only coming out a few days ago and all I can say is wow... I've only played about an hour but the story is gripping and really grabs hold of you from the first few moments, it's a 3rd person stealth/adventure game where you play as Amicia a medievil girl in or around the 1300's (during the black plague outbreak...) in the opening scene you wonder around the forest with your father and dog and the dog runs off only to be found shortly after in a bad way, stuck in a ditch and then get's pulled into the ditch by something you cannot see but it doesn't look too good... you then head back to your medievil home and the place is stormed by the inquisition soldiers who are looking specifically for your little brother Hugo, for what reason is unknown at this point, from there you have to navigate your way out of the family estate relying heavily on stealth and hiding in long grass, creating diversions by throwing rocks etc and so begins the journey you find yourself on, being hunted, hiding and outsmarting enemies as well as the plague infested rat hoardes that come later into the game. Visually it's pretty stunning and my 580 and Ryzen 1600 manage to play it on ultra settings at a solid 60fps though the CPU usage is some of the highest I have seen in a game (the games that I play anyway) and will usually hover anywhere between 50% and upto 95% usage.... which is crazy. That said even though the CPU is being taxed it still stays well below 60c so it's not the same kind of 95-99% usage you'll see from something like cinebench that can hit well into the 70c+ threshold. There are also frame drops in some point of the game which seems to stem from the game/engine itself rather than the available hardware resources and I foresee a patch incoming soon to fix minor issues like this. With all that said, I can't wait to continue playing this visually stunning game that has an original storyline, great visuals and and manages to keep you (me) inteterested all the while. It's available now on Steam for £39.99 ($40) and seems to be well worth every penny thus far and I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it, but if you're patient and don't mind playing the waiting game you might get lucky and snag it at half that or even less when it becomes on sale at some point. Either way, I'd happily pay full price and recommend it to anyone who loves story driven adventure games that look visually stunning also.
