Not really a high enough jump imo

Maybe a score of 9000-9200 I would have bought it. 2080 ti still would be way ahead even then.

I am going to wait for next year and full RDNA, intel dedicated... let's see what Nvidia does then. I am placing bets on AMD's full RDNA next year round Fall time beating 2080 ti across the board at $599 msrp.

fair enough. plus it overclocks probably really good as well. so maybe it will come within 5% of stock 2080 ti once it has a max overclock on it with very high fan curve.

Ah the lovely "realistic" benchmark, someone should make a geekbench for GPUs to be used for other benches and make it horrendously inaccurate like this one is.

Let's all remember this is but one benchmark. Before jumping to any conclusions let's wait for all the rest of the benchmarks to get an overall better view of what the GPU can/can't do.

I finally took the plunge & bought 3DMARK yesterday. Was also thinking about AIDA64 but it looks like you have to renew it every 1 to 3 years.

3DMark is great to test the stability of your system/overclock.

As a benchmark... well, bragging rights. Not much else. It doesn't reflect gaming performance at all, especially with recent titles and recent cards.
But, it still works GREAT to check if your 100Mhz overclock works or crashes spectacularly in a ball of fire.

Definitely what the 2080 should have been. At least there is a slightly compelling reason to look at it. The og 2080 was silly. $700 for making everything look like poo when you could have just had a 1080ti.

That depends greatly on your usage scenario. 16GB of HMB2 made for a great compute card and guaranteed that games would not run out of VRAM anytime in the near future.

3DMark is great to test the stability of your system/overclock.

It tests the GPU well for stability/overclocking..not so much on the cpu with it's short physics test.

Also, 3dmark is a good representation of relative performance. You typically see similar differences between cards here as you do in games. It also depends on which bench you use too. Time spy... firestrike extreme, both do a solid job showing relative performance.

Unfortunately, no, you guys will still have it cheaper.

R9 3900X for example is $499 in us, and 549 Euro here... even if EUR itself is higher than USD
The VAT is killing it...
