If our review of CORSAIR's Hydro X series XG7 GPU water block for the NVIDIA GTX 1080 interested you and made you want to look into their offerings for newer cards, then you may be just as interested in knowing that AMD's latest and greatest in the discrete GPU market gets some Hydro X love too. CORSAIR has added to their custom watercooling product portfolio with the new RX-SERIES GPU block which is compatible with all reference design AMD Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT offerings. The block has the same feature set as with their other XG7 GPU blocks, with full coverage (GPU, VRM, VRAM), integrated dRGB lighting supported by iCUE, pre-applied thermal pads and paste for easy installation, a full-length aluminium backplate included in the package, and a transparent top coupled with a flow indicator wheel. It costs $149.99 for customers in the USA, and is available immediately as of the time of this post.

I'd be interested to see how this compares to the Alphacool block that was just released and the EK block already on the market. The inclusion of the backplate is welcome given the price.

Hopefully, that block makes contact with the VRM (it looks short). GPU at a cool 45C but VRM toasting at 110C is meh.

I highly doubt they designed it that bad... and I'm sure they test before... if you are correct though that is indeed a major oversight...

It's a full cover block, so it should make contact with the VRMs as with any other such block.

You couldn't fit this into a GPU block category ! Qnly the price is the same , as actually liquide coller is offering a copper element AIO version . Strong chrome almost hides the fact that it's a Copy of the block! However, the value does not reach $ 50. and that would be a decent price for a $ 450 GPU card. GPU Block is characterizes as one piece of copper metal ! People please do not allow yourself to be victims of scammers and such profiteers !

Not this nonsense again.. I thought I replied to your comment in the GPU block review already saying this is a nickel-plated copper block. If this is bad, then I guess we should tell EK, Alphacool, Aqua Computer, Bitspower, Watercool, XSPC, Phanteks, Bykski, Thermaltake, Swiftech, EVGA, and Barrow to stop making blocks too.

At least the Alphacool one looks hella great.

What's the OEM for these?

Corsair taking a page out of ancient long lost and thankfully forgotten Swiftech designs with a fullbody heatsink. I wonder if Corsair understands the point of watercooling?

Am I missing something here or is everyone just losing it instead? That Swiftech block uses a uniblock design to cool the GPU core, and the VRAM + VRMs are cooled by that aluminium heatsink. This CORSAIR block only has that aluminium side cover for aesthetics, similar to Phanteks and a few others. Here's a better look (scroll down to the disassembly section): https://www.techpowerup.com/review/corsair-hydro-x-series-xg7-rgb-10-series-gpu-water-block/3.html

It's their own ID and manufacturing.

Yea, I know how it works. The point is the design aesthetic. The fullbody heatsink look is really for lack of a better word, meh.
