However:

Rockstar says Grand Theft Auto 5's offline mode was disabled by a bug, not the launcher...

"Rockstar rolled out a new game launcher for PC today, which came with a free copy of the great Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas—and, shortly after people got their hands on it—reports that it also changed the Steam version of Grand Theft Auto 5 to disable offline mode. Rockstar has confirmed that this did in fact occur, but said that it's a bug, not an intentional modification, and that no changes were made to the GTA5 DRM.

The Rockstar support site says the studio is aware of an issue "that is affecting some players' ability to play in Offline Mode," and is looking into it. Unfortunately, that's all it says right now.
"

Well I hope the offline mode will be back soon.

Didn't even know about that they also have their own launcher. Well, I hope that their version of San Andreas is better than the crappy Steam version.

Oh, whats this ?
Another publisher specific game launcher ! LOVELY
We now have a Launcher that launch other launchers which also launch other launchers (gog galaxy to open r6 siege on steam, which opens uplay)

We need a launcher that will automatically download cracked torrents for games you bought so you can have old fashioned offline pieceful experience.

Really wish I could refund GTA V now. Haven't been interested in it for a while, and the horrible DRM coupled with the shitshow that is GTA Online means I'll probably stay uninterested.

Rockstar has always had a client for GTA5. All they did was rename it and add some functionality.

No kidding. The online mode is unplayable. The hacking problem is real.

I may end up going back to my old consoles. The PS4 is inferior in every way, but I can play GTA online modes without invincible helicopters and UFOs being dropped on my head.

You're exaggerating the problem just a little bit. GTA5 is literally the only game I play online and the experience is not that bad. GTA5 physics are wonky, but that can be fun too! And the mods? Forget it, few other games have as many mods as GTA5.

I really miss the days when you could jump onto an offline PC and play whatever game you want without any interruptions at all.
Now if you even have an internet outage, it renders half of your steam library useless.
If the game requires updates (which get pushed through on a regular basis hehehe), well you'll just have to wait for the download and waste time fiddling with mods to restore your game back to working order.

Yeah. I also miss the old times with consoles, that you just put a game in and play.

I just don't like GTA online myself, tried it back in the day with X360 and just nah..

Which is why GOG is my preferred game distribution service.

I've been a huge GTA fan for years but when the hackers took over GTA 5 Online I stopped playing it. I don't think it's even installed on my PC at the moment.

If Rockstar released their games on GOG, I'd be very happy. But we all know that T2 has the delusional idea that insane DRM stops piracy, even thought I'd say it encourages it.

I’m connecting the dots and thinking this is a setup for RDR2. Why do this now with nothing “new” coming other than that possibility.

Jesus, you said this in 2019, and now is even worse. I really hate those guys blowing things up and wasting his time in killing people without any reason. I don't know if they have all of that because they hacked their GTA V Account or what.

I was even about to buy a modded account just to get in the game and kill those ****f*ckers

Doing that manually has been serving me well. I then get a launcher called Start Menu that I can just link all those applications to and boom. Offline experience guaranteed - rollin' like its 1999.

I guess it really was better back in the day.

You got to be careful when you buy an account on the internet. You probably may get scammed. Did you find a good website where you could buy and have like a secure environment in case something goes wrong?

I'll have to agree with this also. Rockstar's Launcher has become minimally distasteful(and you all know my opinion about launchers & DRM) and I say props to them for keeping things easy to use and simple. However...
Just got an social club/Launcher update on Steam and once again I'm unable to launch the game in offline mode...:banghead::banghead:
...Steam on the other hand has recent become a bloated, PITB, messy piece of crapware. Irritating as hell.

You're totally right. I havent bought anything yet because of what you said. I mean, is a bit scary to get scammed.

I found a website about GTA V Accounts that may be a good opportunity but I still i'm cautious since I don't know if it's true haha!
