I'm upgrading to 1440p gaming and I wanted to know how this monitor is since I couldn't find any reviews on it. It's is a off brand called X-star DP2710 27'' (ips?) My primary reason for buying this is because I found a guy selling two locally and for cheap and I was looking for a 1440p monitor.

Thanks.

It maybe a Korean off brand that I don't mind too much. The panels are usually AHVA (much closer to IPS than VA). They might even come with a 120HZ refresh rate.

60hz refresh rate and 8ms response are not good for a gaming monitor, your benq is much better than the one you are looking at. Unless you are getting it at a steal I would look else where. What is your budget? You want 27" and 144 refresh rate @1440? What games will you be playing? If you are gaming with older games your 980ti maybe fine at 1440, but will struggle with newer games at same rez. Someone here may have a better option or answer for you. @eidairaman1 @Bill_Bright @FordGT90Concept any advice.

it's being sold for $120 so it's pretty decent at that price. I don't really have a budget as I came upon it and wondered if it was worth it being higher res. I do not want 144hz from 1440p since that would be pretty expensive I'd only be buying another monitor around $300 maybe. As for games I play pretty much anything too long to list but manly been playing outer worlds and fps games I don't always get 144fps either but it doesn't bother me that much to lower the settings. I thought 1440p was sweet spot for my gpu? I know 4k is not going to happen crossing that off.

If you can get one under $100€, they are still pretty good. If it is the normal, DVI only one then you can overclock it, since it is the same internally as the QNIX QX2710, which I had for a few years. It overclocked to 100Hz without artifacts. The picture was better than a normal TN panel (no shifting due to bad angles). If you are really strapped for money, go for it. I still use mine for a secondary rig and enjoy it. If you have a bit more to spend on it, I'd get either a cheap 4k60 VA monitor for 1080p gaming (integer scaling is coming) and great productivity or spend a bit more and get a Freesync 1440p. They start around 270€ to 300€ here in Germany (Samsung C27JG54 / C27JG56 27"/32" or AOpen HC1 32HC1QUR P). Better picture quality, warranty, Freesync and up to 144Hz. Black Friday and Cybermonday are around the corner (depending on where you are). 120$ would be a bit too much for me right now. I tried to sell mine for 120€ a year ago and had no buyers.

You hit it on the head bro, to me it sounds like his mind was already made up so he can do what ever he wants. I say abandon ship.
