I had my 480 Strix running at 40C under a full load with a few tweaks of clock speeds and a bit of voltages :) Made a slight difference to the wattage pull too....

40c is unbelievable , i think i need give more attention about tweaking undervolt or whatever is, will slowly learn and try it later thx
a manual setup 87% fan give me better temp, stil thats imposible to get 70c hehe

Yeah, undervolting the highest boost state will help a great deal. I had a Nitro+ 480, and dropping the voltage not only helped it run cooler, but it stayed at the max boost clock most of the time.

+1 for the undervolt.

Wasn't sure at first but ever since I've tried it I did not look back and I think I wouldn't use any AMD card w/o undervolt now.

Only undervolted the highest 'gaming' phase to a stable ammount.
My RX 570 had issues with its boost clock speed and this fixed it + it runs cooler 'under 70c' too with just a fixed 40% fan speed.

Manually....I personally still prefer to use MSI afterburner instead of AMD global Wattman it's just easier or maybe I just get use to it....Also @potato58+ use the manually fan settings and set your curve,if you ask me I will put the MAX fan somewhere around 60c-65c.....GL

I said I was a tweaker :D

So basically, I found where the card stepped down it's clock speeds and voltages, then just made sure the fan was on at a reasonable level and off we went :) It was when we where mining so they weren't on for 5 minutes and I recorded the temps :) Even during the very hot months, I don't think I saw more than 50C...

+1 for MSI Afterburner.. As @Zyll Goliath mentioned, I think it's a better thing to use as well. Put a game or benchmark in Windowed mode (I think Heaven or Valley would be perfect for this) and then let the test run and just lower the voltage of the card down. These AMD cards do tend to have a bit more voltage than they need so lowering it down will probably make the biggest difference :)

Give us a shout through the thread or Skype or whatever :)

now you see the thing that controls the heat on your gpu is the voltage which it draws so no matter which card you have you will decrease the temp by undervolting and in a lot of cases if you up the fan curve you run out of fan before you get the temps under control.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Cooler is better, however, these cards are ok running at that speed. I wouldn't change a thing unless noise was bothering me.

You need to go on Settings(in afterburner)and then unlock the voltage control and unlock the voltage monitoring

Anyway....with settings like this and with the Fan curve set to blow at max if temps past 60c my cards almost never surpass 68c-70c.....and yeah I keep my case side closed but I did change GPU paste 6-7 month ago and I keep GPU&CASE fairly clean.....

Press the right mouse button on your desktop/AMD Radeon Settings/Gaming/Global Settings/Global Wattman and Then Accept overclocking.....after that reset MSI Afterburner and then try it again
