@Durvelle27

Post a pick of white stickers located on the card back or side of heatsink, even the barcode label from the box helps. Get a GPU-Z screenshot, also attempt to upload the bios through gpu-z to the bios collection, you may get a prompt that the bios is already in the collection, copy and paste any links you see from the program here.

Waiting on the PSU before i can throw it in and pull the BIOs

I hope your bios is already in the database and the equivalent xt bios is too.

Do you have a Flashkat/Flashcat or SPI programmer with bios chip clip?

Also I know you have a backup gpu for recovery.

Once a gpu-z screen is given , attempt to upload the bios through GPU-Z to the VGA Bios Collection, you may get a prompt that it is already in the database/collection with a link to it, I need the link copy and pasted here. If you dont get that prompt just upload it and get the link once done.

Find a good one so if you ever flash another gpu you can.

So far the challenger bios between the 5700 and xt are similar other than ssid being 1 number different (every company is different), so the risk of failure is minimized, however some have difficulty going back (tbf i call it pebcak)

It seems Sapphire pulse series share the same ssid on some of those navi cards.

I'll check around as I've beeb needing one

And i don't think I'd have a reason to want to roll back BIOs as the performance difference is to large

Well i dont believe we will have a problem flashing the card as long as the bios matches up to an xt variant.

Well when you get all setup let me know.
Got side tracked. Got the PSU but it only has 1 6+2 PCIe connector and 4 6 pin PCIe connectors and the GPU has 2 8 Pin slots

why would one need an SPI programmer when simply so many flash without one? Sorry, haven't done a bios flash in years and only once. So I am not very familiar with it.

I will get on it

Back up your bios and i will get you the xt

@Durvelle27 since you are flashing you understand that it may have undesired effect.

I Would suggest removing the gpu driver before flashing or reinstalling it so the proper registry entries are made.

Get the tool

Here is the file it is the closest we have to your card.

Since the Subsystem ID will be changing slightly you will need to do a force flash in an administrator privileged command prompt. (Find cmd in start menu right click and open as administrator)

If that is not performed you may receive the stupid 0FL error.

Then follow this command

Enter this command first

Amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0

Then enter this command

amdvbflash -f -p 0 XXXX .rom

Note: XXXX is the name of the VBIOS file you downloaded. You can also change the downloaded file name to a simple name.

Otherwise you do it this way:

Create a new text file in your ATIFlash directory, name it FLASH.bat, and place this code into it:

@Echo off
cls

echo Flashing card 0 with BIOS.rom...
echo.
amdvbflash -p 0 -f BIOS.rom
echo.

pause
Assuming the new BIOS you want to flash onto your card is named BIOS.rom, this is the BIOS it will use for flashing.

Save your changes, then run the batch file by double-clicking on it.

Once you've received a success message, reboot your computer for the new BIOS to come into effect. If you can boot into Windows successfully, then that's good! (Note: your screen may flicker for a bit, because you basically have a new card, and Windows is trying to recognize it. If you want to be thorough, go ahead and do a clean re-install of your graphics drivers.)

So you're only getting the benefit of increased clocks and maybe power profile with this, correct?

Awesome, another Card known to flash successfully. Hmm makes me wonder why others have failures flashing... (powercolor)
Honestly i don't like Power Color GPUs. Never had any luck with them.

And as far as ASRock. This is my first GPU by them but i love their Mobos. So ASRock Mobo plus ASRock GPU seemed like a good idea

Correct, along with lifting the artificial OC limit on the GPU core.

Yup thats the mod, sometimes the shader count increases aswell. Not all cards will see that but will benefit from the higher clocks/power limits. Example my 290 cant be unlocked to a 290X as the shaders are laser cut, however i can increase everything else

I believe people aren't doing it correctly like you have.
