Possible drive fail in a short period?

Hi guys, I was doing some screenshots of hwinfo for another thread in TPU when I noticed that my seagate drives every screenshot I take has a higher number of reallocated sectors.

I would like to know if it is giong to fail or of it is the case to swap it.

Any unusual sound or rattle? Or unusual spin up and down, any corrupted files or hang?

If yes, you better do backup then

it does a sound like scratching when reading or writing.

Consider that I bought it used more than a year ago, and was doing these noises since the start.
then I don't know if it is windows or somewhat else but after a period of inactivity it powers off. I have another drive, a wd blue but form this I can't hear if it also shuts down or not

I'd trust hdd sentinel here. The other program is likely misreading the value.

Still, when in doubt: backup.

Since the result is ok it doesn't mean the hardware is fine
I've seen some hdd in days just drop worse
If you have spare drives, you better do some backup especially when you feel something not usual happend

So now I’ll do a backup and at the first sign of data corruption or something else I’ll change it

I remembered that HDTune Pro has the error scan feature and better smart info
Here it is if it helps

Atm doing an error scan to see if it is that bad

The best tool to use if it is a Seagate drive is Seatools.

Depends on their policy... some just go by SN and you do not need a receipt/PoP.

It doesn't tell me, it says it was part of a integrated system. The company from my friend took it has disappeared

Most likely it was an OEM drive and the warranty comes with the computer. Best thing you could do is to try to back up.

Doing it now, gonna replace it just before is gonna die. Luckily it was the game only drive lol

For future reference: The conventional wisdom by tech experts on backups is known as the 3-2-1 method. Basically you want:

3 copies of any data you don't want to lose.
2 different mediums it's stored on (so 2 different drives in your computer, for example).
1 copy kept offsite, to prevent against disaster.

Luckily I have only games in that drive
