New laptop is overheating in game play.

Ok, this is an Acer AS9810-6829
t7200
7600 GO
raid-o
2 gigs DDR2
Vista 32bit

Installed Graw2 on it and it locks up during start up. It's showing signs of overheating with artifacts:shadedshu.

What tools could I use to turn it down a bit? ATi tool doesn't work on it.

Have you tried speed fan? Also a good idea for any laptop is a cooling pad.

Edit: Generally laptop drivers are provided by manufactures (of the laptop)....I know it sucks.

Oh, umm have you tried speedfan? Also look at this thread to learn how to undervolt your cpu. If it's not in there, post something in there or here, or wherever, I'll help after lunch, but download something called NHC (notebook hardware control) and use it to undervolt the cpu.

riva tuner will let you set the fan speed on your 7600GO

also get a dump of the vid BIOS ill see if i can help any there

Going to exchange it for another one. Installed Ntune and ran the stability test art facts all over and it locks 3 mins in.

Just need moded drivers because Nvida sucks at giving new drivers.......
