You can also use the reading mode and turn everything white on black. We all know that. This thread is about official web sire endorsement of a dark theme (that will look pretty much the same on all browsers and devices).
I can understand if the admins don't think it's worth their time. But let's not use generic workarounds and pretend we have support, ok

how do i activate reading mode on my phone? eeek im such a nub lol

also those that might have tons of devices or might not want or can't have extensions... like work computers or something. many of those are locked down to where you can't get extensions.

@kastriot We are. Which is a little sad (if nothing else dark is more battery friendly on mobile). But it's not like a can ask for my money back
Or maybe the admins are still thinking about it and don't want to give us false hope until they decide one way or another?

A selectable dark theme for TPU would be very cool!

I guess there's nothing for mobile yet. For desktop I just use Dark Reader from Chrome webstore.

I mean Firefox mobile has Dark Reader extension and I used it but pages load slow af so had to remove it.

But since I mostly browse with opera mini with image off and data saving (like right now) a dark theme would've been nice.

Btw mobile firefox is changing their web engine iirc. So extension support will become a little iffy for sometime from my guess. So download a few weeks/months old version I guess. Dunno if they changed it or it’s still in nightly beta.

Firefox has reader mode that needs no extension and you can customize font, font size, foreground and background. It's not the same a dark website, but darn useful when trying to actually read.

The Dark Reader plugin for Chrome/Firefox has been pretty solid for me overall. There's a few sites that don't do well with it, set them to light mode (which is not quite full standard bright/light mode, more of a light grey mode) and all is well. Might be darker than some are after though...

I'm considering a 2020 model LG OLED as well this Fall. working 9 to 5 and such, I can safely say my 12 hour game binge session days are over. I also want to start a family eventually, so burn in isn't so much an issue. Especially if I get one of the latest models. and a PS5 to go with it, buy both same day. I will still keep PC of course for aiming games that do better with mouse, but all other games will be on ps5. I might roll Samsung QLED 2020 model. not sure yet.I saw them side by side at Costco and the QLED impressed me a lot.

I can say if you use Dark mode on apps and run the antiburnin thingamajig that ships with such tvs at the end of the day for just 5 minutes or so, you'll be fine. The "HGTV" logo was burned in worse from my parents watching TV than anything I ever did (and that's because my mom watches precisely one channel)

QLED impressed me a lot.

It's impressive but it's still not an emissive tech, like OLED. Then again, that brings about some positives too. I'm just an emissive fanboy.

If I had saved a dollar everytime you mentioned you punched your monitor, I'd have a pretty hefty savings.

Practical when im in bed with lights closed and come here. Dark mode doesnt burn retina as much.

To be frank, it is impressively dumb.
