The Manhunt 2 incident makes people wonder whether or not the current American video game rating system (the ESRB) is actually doing anything, working, or even making sense. Instead of doing a complete system overhaul to avoid another Manhunt 2 fiasco, the ESRB is launching a new awareness campaign, aimed to tell parents the difference between an "E" (everyone) rating, and an "M" (mature) rating. The new campaign is mainly television and radio spots, with Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch and his young daughter and son. Such political support is a definite help for the ESRB.

No-one pays attention to ratings anyway... if a kid wants a GTA game, they're parents just buy it for them. Ratings will NEVER work. It's discrimination against kids. We are'nt even allowed credit cards :(

Im a huge fan and supporter of the ESRB board. some games I may like are rated AO or M (None that I know of except DOA Beach Volleyball). Im not into manhunt 2 or GTA type stuff so I use this system as a measure of these sorts of games.

No, debit card is where your money goes when you get paid for a job. Credit cards don't store money, you like borrow it from the bank and pay it back later.

Debit card is direct access to your bank account ;)

Most Debit cards these days are operated through mastercard/Visa, so they behave just like a credit card but just pull transactions direct from your account rather than totalling a bill.

Debit cards rule.

But theres good reason kids aren't allowed credit cards.

You're not legally able to be held accountable.

The M rated game policy is annoying, I think 16 needs to be the cutoff for M. (I'm 19 so it will never affect me again anyways, but its still kinda dumb)

They probably should have an IQ rating... some teenagers are worse than those idiotic kiddos.

We in australia have this

G, G+8, M15+, MA15+ (Is not allowed to be sold to minors), R18+.
