The Ryzen 3 3100 is turning out to be a fun little toy for enthusiasts. PC enthusiast TSAIK succeeded in overclocking it to 5923 MHz under extreme cooling. The chip was fed 1.45 Volts, and put under liquid nitrogen cooling, to achieve the feat. An MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk motherboard and a single stick of 8 GB memory underclocked to DDR4-1600 made the rest of the critical hardware. The feat is the second highest OC record for a "Zen 2" powered processor, next only to TSAIK's own speed record with the flagship Ryzen 9 3950X, which was pushed to 6041 MHz. Find the HWBot submission for the Ryzen 3 3100 speed record here.

All I can say is - DAMN!

Why Damn? 5.9 isnt like a big deal for a quad-core

Also we don't know if can run any benchmark, this is just VALIDATION

I think it's more like "DAMN" considering Ryzen doesn't really clock that high, even with insane cooling.

The % overclock is pretty significant I would say.

But yeah, LN2... its fun for the leaderboards, not any sign of anything else.

Still its pretty cool to see a die so low in the stack perform so well, that does speak of the general die quality. The top dies might be more efficient, but they can all clock.

Guess it reached the limit of the silicon as it only needed 1.45v unless that's a typo

This is brow raising but it is nothing like a 3990x under LN2...

Any higher would fry the chip. This is'nt 32nm with a FX bulldozer lol where you could jack up to 2V into it.
Very doubtful, 32 to 12nm is not a drop in 500mv.

No it won't... that is while under LN2. As shown with the 3990x, as long as it stays cool you can push a crap ton of voltage thru it. There was an article detailing the process and the pros were told the chip will keep scaling higher and higher. The 3990x world records were run with well over 1.6v.

Actually if you could afford a LN2 compressor system, you could actually run it 24/7.

Now the power usage, noise and space required would be monstrous.

Pretty hilarious. Rich kid runs a Ryzen 3 3100... but its under LN2, so justified :D

No, but it's a big deal for Ryzen CPU's. Because of the way Ryzen CPU's function, overclocking potential is somewhat limited. 5.9GHZ is a serious achievement for the Zen2 architecture, even on LN2.

Well like i SAID no big deal 5.88ghz on 8core.

People often get excited for nothing.

Notice the core frequencies for your example... 5.882ghz on ONE core.. That is not difficult to achieve for a great many CPU's, Ryzens included. Try clocking the same CPU to all cores and see what you get... Go ahead, we'll wait.

The OP is showing an ALL core 5.9ghz OC, not just one core. That is the difference and what makes that OC impressive. Not everyone is an OC geek, and you don't understand that difference. It's all good, everyone needs to learn sometime.
